Chapter56
Catalaiya’s pov:
It’s been fifteen minutes and it was quiet. I was getting more scare and anxious as time went by. It was like my mind was waiting for Mason to burst out of the elevator to hurt me or my baby.
My hands remained on my belly.
Nayvee wrapped her arm around me in a comforting hug but it wasn’t working as my mind wasn’t
at peace.
We both heard the loud sound of the elevator door opening as it echoed around. My heart started to
race and I held onto Nayvee’s arm.
“I know you are here,” his voice rang.
“Come out now and no one gets hurt.” He added. We could hear his footsteps as he was getting
closer to us. He slammed open the other doors, making us jump startled.
“I’m losing my patience.” He snaps angrily.
“Your husband tortured me day and night after the charity party. I run away and my dad had to call various doctors to look after my ruined body… You are going to be my sweet revenge for your dear husband. He will lose his wife to me and especially that thing inside of you… That thing that
represents your lovey–dovey actions.” He talked loudly.
“Come out!”
Both Nayvee and I jumped startled as he opened the door of the cabin where we were hiding. We both remained quiet as we held onto each other.
It was the loudest silence I ever experienced.
After five minutes, we finally heard his footsteps going away as he walked to the back of the third
floor.
“If we can take the elevator and go to the main floor, I can drive us away from here,” Nayvee
whispered.
That’s risky…
But staying here will be more dangerous. He was now in the last cabin at the back, throwing the tables and chairs around. We both had a time advantage and a distance advantage from him. I nodded at Nayvee and we both stood up, ready to run.
We quietly walked away from the cabin’s door before rushing to the elevator.
“Hey!”

We managed to run into the elevator and Nayvee pressed the button. Mason run to us, however, we got lucky as the door closed a few seconds before he could reach us. We heard him bang on the
closed door.
My heart was racing, my back was hurting and I could feel my legs giving out. I grabbed Nayvee’s
arm as I steady myself.
“Hey, are you okay?” She asked concerned.
“I’m a little… tired.” I sigh.
The door opened and we both shrieked when we saw a couple of men standing there. I instantly recognised the guy who called me an escort at the mafia mansion and I felt a wave of relief wash
over me.
His eyes widened slightly before he rushed to wrap his arm around my shoulder. We walked out of the elevator with Nayvee by my side.
“Are you okay?” He asked genuinely concerned.
“Yes-”
“No, she’s weak and tired.” Nayvee interrupted.
“Where is Mason?” Another
guy
asked.
“Third floor,” I replied.
We heard a loud bang before Mason walked out from the emergency stairs, his gun pointing at us. He was breathing heavily but his stare and determination were there.
I was surprised when all the guys that came to rescue us, stood in front of me as a shield without
hesitating.
“Get him down.” The guy beside me ordered.
As the others went to attack him, we walked out of the building toward a black van. The guy opened the door and helped me to sit at the back.
“What’s your
name?” I inquired curiously.

“Louis and i’m so sorry for the other day.” He apologised,
“It’s okay,” I told him.
“You both did a pretty good job in staying alive.” He commented and I looked at Nayvee.
“All because of her, thank you,” I told her sincerely.
She smiled, “No problem, that’s what friends do.”
“Do you want anything? Water? Food?” Louis asked me.
“N–no,” I shook my head.
“LOVE!”
My head snapped toward Aziel’s voice. I frowned when I noticed that his forehead was bleeding and he looked messy. He rushed to my side, wrapping his arms around me before pulling me in a tight hug. I closed my eyes, accepting his comfort.
“I’m so sorry for coming so late,” he said as he rubbed my back.
“I’m okay, we’re okay,” I reassured him.
“Let’s go home,” he said softly.
“I’m going to give you a relaxing massage while you rest. You need it.” Aziel kissed my forehead.
To be honest, I just want to be in his arms.
Right now, I was in the bedroom with Aziel giving me a foot massage. We both came home and changed. Thalia and Alfred know what happened and Thalia comforted me with one of her motherly hugs and sweet talks. I accepted everything with open arms.
I also got a smoothie fruit bowl to eat as I was still feeling weak. Aziel cleaned his forehead and put band–aids on it.
“You can stop now, your hands will get tired,” I said.
“I can keep up.” He reassured me.
“I’m fine, just come beside me please,” I said and he nodded.
He went to wash his hands first before he sat down beside me, his back leaning against the headboard. I wrapped my arm around his abdomen while I rested my head on his shoulder. I also

“Today was scary,” I said lowly.
“I know,” he murmured.
“When he threatened to kill our baby, i-”
“He will pay Love,” Aziel stated.
I felt his hand goes under my shirt and he reached to rub my belly, “He tried to hurt you, but daddy
will hurt him.”
The baby responded with a kick and I felt relief as I didn’t felt any kick since the office’s incident.
I tilt my head to look up at him, “I don’t want you to get hurt either.”
He lifts his hand up and stroke my cheek, “I love you.”
I smiled, “I love you too.”
“But I’m serious.” I dead planned.
