Chapter 57
Alessio
I was greeted back by the sight of Estelle, the flight attendant who often work on our private jet. Her presence was a surprise as I had definitely not expected to see her.
“Estelle, what are you doing here?” I asked as she leaned in for a quick hug.
A flush rose to her cheeks as she handed me the drink she held in her hand. “You rEmilyEmilybered my name,” her eyes beamed with happiness. “I live and work here whenever I’m not in the sky.”
A silence followed between us. She blinked her eyes, hoping I would be the one to keep the conversation going–but I had nothing to talk about. Not with her.
It made me feel like a terrible person because she seEmilyed like a nice woman.
“When I heard a Fanucci was coming, I already hoped it would be you,” she eventually broke the silence.
I cracked a smile. “What? You don’t like my brothers?”
“I do,” Estelle quickly clarified. “I was just hoping it would be you.”
Maybe if I kept my mouth shut, she would leave. Nothing against her, but I just was
nterested in small
talk.
“Oh, don’t pretend like you’re not special,” Estelle placed her hand on her hip. “We both know what you got packing down there.”
I cleared my throat, shutting down her obvious attEmilypts at flirting. “Tell me more about your boss,” I decided to ask since we were already talking.
“Steven?” Estelle mentioned his name. “Harmless. He’s a good boss, kind–hearted, pays us well, looks out
for us.”
“Why would you need the extra money if you get paid well?” I asked out of curiosity, knowing the
Fanuccis also paid her well enough.
Estelle let out a playful scoff as she took a spin and swung her designer bag in the air. “Uh, hello?” her
answer was clear. Her lifestyle choices were expensive, and she worked hard to afford thEmily.
I smiled at her, appreciating her honesty. She loved money and felt no need to lie about it.
After our little adventure on the plane last time, I also gave her money–and she couldn’t hide her

happiness, telling me she would make good use of it.
“Do you want to come to my room?” her hands brushed against mine, and I quickly pulled away.
“No,” I blurted out, confused by the word that had escaped my lips, but it was said very clearly. Rejecting pussy was not something I was good at, especially without a solid reason behind it–and now that everything was almost back to normal, I wasn’t supposed to have one.
“No?” Estelle repeated, equally as surprised.
“Maybe some other time. I’m busy, so I can’t stay for long.” I lied, offering an explanation that sounded
more like an excuse–even to my own ears.
I knew why I had denied her advances, or lately anyone else’s lately for that matter. I knew when it had
started, why it had started, and because of who it had started.
I knew.

Estelle forced a smile, “Can I give you my number? For when you’re not busy.”
“Sure,” I replied hesitantly, handing over my phone. It was more out of courtesy than desire.
Estelle was the type who didn’t easily give up, and I was not going to make a thing out of it. I was way too
exhausted for that.
She handed back my phone. “Now you have my number,” she stated, her eyes telling me to call her as
soon as possible.
“Now I have your number,” I nodded.
“So don’t hesitate to give me a call,” she whispered, giving me a kiss on the cheek before leaving.
I watched her as she walked away, her hips swaying side to side as she had walked on that plane.
I still didn’t feel a thing within me. The lack of eagerness to jump at the opportunities she presented, from the bedroom to the phone call, had once again pointed to a change that I had now fully acknowledged.
My heart belonged to someone else.
As we were on the road again, on our way to our next destination–I sat in silence, gathering my thoughts.
It was hard to believe that I turned down a woman for another woman.
It was needed because I could finally accept my feelings for Emily were beyond physical attraction. I

wanted to keep her safe, make her happy–hear her voice all the time.
I wanted all of her.
I used to think things like that didn’t exist because it hadn’t happened to me–but here I was.
“I didn’t know that cute flight attendant worked there. What’s her name again?” Donni’s voice broke through my thoughts, somehow failing to find the right moment.
“Estelle,” I responded, my voice flat. I didn’t want to talk about it.
“And you just let her go like that,” Donni made it clear that he had caught onto the situation. Once he would start talking about something, he wouldn’t know how to end it–and I did not want to talk or think about Estelle. Donni was the kind of person to talk about something for days, and that’s why I decided to come clean and put an end to it.
“I did, and I didn’t know why–but now I do,” I began. It was also the first time I would be admitting it to myself out loud. “I think…no, don’t think–I love Emily.”
Saying those words, a sense of clarity washed over me and now I was certain. It wasn’t just in my head, it came from my heart.
“What?” Donni and Levi spoke at the same time, Donni full of disgust, while Levi, who tried to focus on the road, furrowed his brows.
“I’m in love with her. For real.” I confessed one more time, the words leaving my mouth way too easily. There was nothing to doubt, there was no reason for an inner struggle. I knew what I felt and for who I felt it for.
