Chapter 88
Valencia’s POV
The tension in me was unbearable, each breath heavier than the last. My core pulsed, my stomach fluttered like wild wings trying to break free.

I crouched against the door, trying to calm the storm raging inside me, but nothing worked. Maybe I’d been here for only a few seconds or maybe minutes. I couldn’t tell anymore.
All I knew was this: I’d already made my decision.
I closed my eyes, trying to steady my trembling hands, but the faint hum of our connection was louder now, vibrating through my entire body. His emotions hit me in waves–desire, hunger, desperation–all–consuming and impossible to ignore.
It might hurt.
No, it will hurt.
But deep down, I knew–through that bond we shared–that Dante would never willingly hurt me. Not in a way mattered.
that
It made me stupid, maybe. Reckless, definitely. But I couldn’t think about that anymore. I wanted him. No–I needed him. Pushing myself off the floor, I stood on unsteady legs. The faint chime of my anklets rang softly, making me blush despite the chaos in my chest. My hands hovered over the keypad for a moment before I punched in the password Caius had given
- me.
The door clicked open, and I quickly slipped inside, shutting it behind me as if the sound of the lock could seal way my doubts.
The moment the door closed, the air changed. It was heavier, thicker, saturated with his scent–woodsmoke, musk, and something darker, more primal. It was intoxicating and overwhelming, a sharp contrast to the cool air of the hallway.
My legs wobbled, and before I could take another step, they gave out beneath me.
I fell to my knees, gasping as the sheer force of his pheromones hit me like a physical blow.
“Ah…” I gulped, my hands pressing against the cool floor as I tried to gather myself.
The room was dimly lit, bathed in hues of violet and black that gave it an almost otherworldly feel. The walls were padded, the windows covered with thick, dark curtains, and in the center of the room was a massive bed–bigger than any bed I’d ever seen. The sheets were deep purple, rumpled and inviting in a way that made my stomach twist.
My gaze flicked around the room, landing on the walls. My cheeks burned when I saw what was displayed there–equipment I barely recognized, from leather paddles to cuffs and… I forced my eyes away, my blush deepening.
And then I saw him.
Golden eyes gleamed through the shadows, burning like molten fire as they locked onto me.
Dante sat crouched in the corner of the room, his body tense and coiled like a predator waiting to pounce, His hands rested on his bent knees, and his chest heaved with heavy, labored breaths. Even in the dim light, I could see the faint shimmer of

his scales, rippling faintly as his muscles flexed with cach breath
For a gaze seemed glazed, as if he were barely holding onto himself. But as I pushed myself up on shaky legs,
ment, his his eyes sharpened, focusing on me with such intensity that I froze.
He moved instantly, rising to his full height in one swift, fluid motion.
“Didn’t I tell you-” His voice was rough, ragged, but before he could finish, I spoke, my
oice trembling but firm.
“I—I don’t care, okay?” I said, cutting him off. My heart raced as I took a step closer. “Isn’t it my turn to make you me?”
believe
Dante tilted his head slightly, a faint smirk curving his lips. His golden eyes flickered with danger, his pupils blown wide. “Valencia,” he murmured, his voice dripping with warning, “you don’t understand what you’re asking for.”
I swallowed hard, my resolve wavering for only a second before steeled myself.
“Yes, I do,” I whispered.
Before I could say anything more, he closed the distance between us. His hands shot out, gripping my arms as he pinned me down onto the bed with a speed that left me breathless.
“You’d better not regret this,” he ground out, his voice low and guttural. “Because I won’t be stopping.”
I gasped as he tore the thin dress from my body with a single motion, the sound of fabric ripping filling the room. Heat surged through me as his mouth descended on my ear, biting down hard enough to make me cry out.
The warmth of his chest burned against mine, and I felt the bond between us ignite, surging to life like an electric current. His emotions flooded me, raw and unrelenting–desire so intense it felt like it would swallow me whole.
It was intoxicating, like sweet honey seeping into my veins, but it was also overwhelming. Too much.
“D–Dante…” I gasped, my voice trembling as he trailed his lips down my neck.
He didn’t stop. His spiritual energy surged through the bond, flooding me with a radiant heat that made my head spin. The room seemed to glow faintly, his essence illuminating the space around us like a golden aura.
It felt good. So good.
But then it started to feel like too much.
“St-” I tried to speak, but he bit down on my lips, silencing me.
“Too much-“I managed, my toes curling as the overwhelming sensations threatened to consume me.
He kissed me, swallowing all my moans and rendering me unable to speak, until finally with a gasp he let go, both of us taking in much needed oxygen.
“No more-” My voice cracked, my breath hitching as he once again dove down making me want to cry.
“I’ll burst-”
Finally, he pulled back, his frown deepening as he studied me. I was left trembling, a dizzy mess beneath him. My chest heaved as I tried to catch my breath, my body burning from the inside out.

And then he dipped his head, biting the place where my neck met my shoulder. I yelped, the sharp sting sending a shiver down my spine.
“Dante,” I whispered, my voice trembling as I looked up at him. “What are you doing?”
“It hurts,” he grunted, his voice low and hoarse. It sounded like he was pleading with me.
I let out a breathy laugh as he ground his hips against mine, his arousal evident. He rutted against me, his movements desperate and unrestrained.
With a burst of grength I didn’t know I had, I pushed against him, flipping us so that I straddled him.
His eyes widened slightly, his hands moving instinctively to grip my hips as I settled onto his lap.
“I… I’ll do it,” I murmured, leaning forward until our faces were inches apart.
And then I kissed him.
