Valencia’s POV
I scrambled off the bed, my breath coming in shallow gasps, the adrenaline coursing through me making my hands tremble.
Blood dripped from the jagged shard of glass embedded in my palm, but the sting barely registered. My focus was on Jaxon -his hulking figure blocking the door.
Panic clawed at me. I couldn’t escape through the door, so my eyes darted to the window. A three–story drop loomed on the other side.
In my panic the idea of transforming into my wolf form didn’t even come to me as I scrambled for an escape.
Could I survive the fall?
Probably not.
Should I just jump anyway?
The thought chilled me. Maybe it was better than this. But when my hand instinctively rubbed my abdomen, I froze. A deep, inexplicable fear settled over me, and I shook my head.
Feeling an absurd premonition that jumping might take more than just my life.
A low growl snapped me back to the present. My head jerked up and my breath hitched as Jaxon’s form shimmered and transformed into a massive blackwolf. His size was monstrous, even for an Alpha. His blue eyes glowed menacingly in the dim room. locking onto me like a predator stalking prey I whimpered, pressing myself against the wall as his grow! deepened, vibrating through my chest.
When he lunged, I squeezed my eyes shut, bracing for the impas, for claws ripping through my skin–but it didn’t come. Instead, the sound of another ferocious snarl ripped through the air.
I opened my eyes just in time to see a white wolf barreling into Jaxon, pinning him down with sheer force.
My breath caught. Aiden?
The two wolves wrestled, their snarls echoing through the room, the air thick with the scent of fur and anger. With a sharp shove, they both shifted back into their human forms, the tension crackling like electricity.
“What the fuck do you think you’re doing?!” Aiden barked, his voice sharp with fury.
Jaxon wiped blood from his forehead, his eyes blazing “None of your fucking business!”
“That is enough!”
The thunderous voice of Alpha Roman froze us all ip place. The sheer power of his Alpha tone forced both men to their knees, and I buckled down along with them.
Roman’s glare shifted from me to Jaxon, and he gestured sharply toward the door. “In my office. Now?
Jaxon gritted his teeth, sending me one last scathing glare before stomping out of the room. Roman followed close behind, the door slamming shut with finality.
1 exhaled shakily, relief washing over me in waves, My hand throbbed, the pain now impossible to ignore. Blood dripped onto the carpet, the sight making me grimace.

“Damn it.” Aiden muttered, his tone somewhere between exasperated and worried. “Call Dr. Rina immediately, he barked at the butler standing near the door.
“No need.” I said quickly, forcing a tight smile. “I’ll wrap it up myself.”
Aiden turned to glare at me, his frustration evident. “You’re losing too much blood.”
“It’s not the first time.” I replied evenly, trying to keep my voice eady. “I can handle it myself”
A heavy silence fell between us. He opened his mouth to say something but seemed to think better of it. Instead, he turned on his heel and left, leaving me alone with the butler.
I sighed, rummaging through my belongings for something to stop the bleeding. Why did I think I could find a first–aid kit here? I’d kept one in my past life, due to the injuries I often suffered, but that was after my marriage.
Frustration gnawed at me as I realized I’d actually have to ask someone for help. Just as I turned toward the door, it swung fully open, and a woman in a crisp white coat rushed in.
Dr. Rina.
Trailing behind her was Aiden, his expression unreadable now, all traces of his earlier anger gone.
I didn’t protest as the doctor sat me down and began stitching my palm. The needle prickled, but I barely flinched, biting down hard on my lip. My healing as an Omega was slower than an Alpha’s, but still faster than a human’s. It would scar, but it wouldn’t last forever.
The moment Aiden left the room, I felt my entire body relax. That is, until after a couple minutes when Marcelene burst through the door.
“What happened?” she demanded, her voice sharp with worry. Her eyes locked onto the bandaged hand I cradled against my chest.
I smile. “Are you finally worried about me?”

“Don’t change the subject!” she snapped, her glare intensifying.
I sighed. “It’s nothing, just a small accident.”
She cursed under his breath, “That fucking bastard…”
The doctor finished stitching me up, her voice curt as she instructed, “Don’t expose it to heat or water for now. I’ll return Tomorrow to check on it.”
“There’s no need,” I interrupted, my tone clipped. “I can manage it myself. You must have more important patients to attend
The doctor gave me a look of thinly veiled irritation but said nothing. Instead, she scribbled a prescription and handed it to Marcelene before leaving without another word.
The silence that followed was deafening, 1 fell back onto the bed staring at the ceiling as the numbness from the pain relief spread through my hand.
1 frowned, my gaze shifting to the newly stitched wound. The cut was eerily familiar.
“What’s wrong?” Marcelene asked, her tone rougher now as she approached.
