Chapter 120
Chapter 120
Valencia’s POV
Shit.
I forced myself to stay still, to breathe evenly, but my mind was racing.
I couldn’t believe he still remembered my slip of the tongue back at Norsor Isle.

Seven–no, Daniel–was staring at me now, ‘his red eyes searching my face with something cautious, something sharp. It wasn’t fear exactly, but it was close.
I willed my heartbeat to slow, knowing that any hesitation, any slip in my expression, could make him suspicious. And anyways, even if I did think it was suspicious, what’s the worst that could happen? It’s not as though anyone would realize I’m someone reborn just with that.
“What do you mean?” I asked, keeping my tone light, nonchalant.
Daniel blinked, then tilted his head slightly, the glow of the limousine’s interior lights casting an eerie shimmer across his pale features. For a moment, I found myself focusing on the unnatural shade of his irises again–deep, vivid red. It was unsettling.
Do humans have red colored eyes? I don’t think so.
Unless he was an albino…
“Well,” Daniel finally spoke, his voice soft–not feminine, but neither too masculine nor deep. It was smooth, like a whisper threading through the air. “The first time we met, you called me Seven… but at that time, my name was Daniel.”
I swallowed.
He continued, his fingers twitching slightly in his lap. “And a couple days ago, when I was given to Alpha Jaxon and Miss Celeste… she named me Seven.”
His eyes flickered to mine, “So I was just reminded of what you had said back then.”
I held his gaze, forcing my expression to remain calm, my lips curling into a faint smile. “Oh. That’s strange, isn’t it?” For a moment I imagined myself telling him the truth.
Oh yeah, I knew you in my past life–except you died a horrible death because of me and I saw your severed head being tossed into a river. Nice to see you again!
Yeah, that would go over really well.
Instead, I opted for something that made the most logical sense while also shifting the focus away from me.
“To be honest,” I said, lowering my voice slightly, “you kind of reminded me of someone I used to know a long time ago. Maybe that’s why I said it without thinking. And maybe Celeste had the same thought… or it was just a coincidence.”
Daniel’s posture relaxed slightly, though his fingers still fidgeted in his lap.
That Seven…” I continued, pausing for a moment. “Well… he departed young.”

“Oh… I see.” His voice was quieter now, as if he were processing something beyond what I had said. “Thank you for telling
me.”
And just like that, the conversation ended.
The rest of the ride continued in silence.
By the time we arrived at the private airstrip, exhaustion had finally settled in.
Dante arranged for the private jet to take us back to Silverclaw Ridge, and as soon as we were in the air, the weight of the day pulled at my limbs. I barely had the energy to fasten my seatbelt before my eyes fluttered shut.
The soft hum of the engines was oddly soothing, lulling me into a dreamless sleep.
I wasn’t sure how much time passed, but at one point, I stirred, feeling the heavy presence of Dante beside me.
Even with my eyes closed, I could feel his emotions.
Worry,
Fear.
He was trying to suppress them, but they slipped through the cracks, pressing against the edges of my own emotions.
And I knew exactly why.
Raiden.
Even though today had been chaotic, even though we had dealt with Jaxon, the engagement, and Daniel’s unexpected presence–Raiden was still in a coma back at the mansion.
Dante hadn’t spoken about it, but I knew.
And I realized I knew something else too.
In my past life, Raiden had died months later. But now, he was already in critical condition.
Did that mean he had fallen ill later in my past
Or…
life?
Had he lasted longer because Dante hadn’t been ready to let him go?
I exhaled softly, my fingers twitching against my lap.
Dante had power. He had resources. If anyone could keep a man alive against all odds, or will, it was him.
But at what cost?
Even Caius, as careless and chaotic as he was, must have been feeling the weight of it.
Marcelene had messaged me earlier, letting me know that Caius had buried himself in work, keeping himself too busy to

think about anything else.
Avoidance.
It was his way of coping.
I sighed, shifting slightly in my seat.
Across from me, Daniel was awake, staring out the window, his expression lost.
I followed his gaze, watching as the clouds drifted beneath us, the sky a deep, endless blue.
The mansion was waiting for us.
And with it, decisions would have to be made.

When we finally arrived, it was nearly four in the morning. The sky was beginning to lighten at the edges, but the air was still thick with the weight of the night.
As we stepped out of the car in front of Silver Moon Estate, Daniel hesitated.
His eyes darted across the grand castle–like structure, taking in the towering spires and intricate stonework. He looked…. fascinated.
And I didn’t blame him.
The first time I had truly looked at this place, I had been awed too. It was imposing, beautiful, and entirely too extravagant.
As we exited, Marcelene and Caius were already waiting outside.
Their expressions were grim.
My stomach twisted.
I already knew what this was about.
Both of their eyes flickered to Daniel, taking him in. Marcelene arched a brow at me, wordlessly questioning his presence.
Caius, however, was more direct.
“Will he be staying with us?”
Dante nodded. “For now, yes.”
He turned toward the butler who had come to greet us. “Prepare a guest room on our floor for him.”
The butler bowed slightly. “Right away, Alpha.”
Before Daniel could be led away, I turned to him. “Are you hungry?”
Daniel shook his head quickly.
He was still tense, his body alert, as if expecting something bad happen at any moment.

I didn’t have the time to reassure him properly, but I softened my tone. “Go with the butler and get settled, okay?”
He hesitated, then nodded.
As he disappeared into the mansion, I turned back to the others,
No one spoke, but we all knew where we were going next.
Raiden’s room.
It took a couple minutes to walk there but we soon reached right outside his door on the sixth floor.
Dante stopped before entering.
I noticed it immediately–the way his shoulders tensed, the sharp inhale of breath.
Marcy and Caius entered but I stopped and moved to stand in front of Dante.
The bond between us was muted. He had blocked most of his emotions from me.
That hurt.
“Dante?” I asked softly, my voice barely above a whisper.
He exhaled, shaking his head slightly.
“I can’t do this,” he murmured.
I frowned, stepping closer. “Do what?”
His eyes met mine, and my chest tightened at the pain reflected in them.
“I can’t kill my own father.” His voice was hoarse, raw with emotion. “I can’t… pull the plug.”
I sucked in a sharp breath.
Oh.
It wasn’t about the decision itself.
Dante knew his father was already gone.
But he couldn’t be the one to end it.
He couldn’t be the one to make it final.
Like in his nightmare. Like in his past life.
I bit my lip, my heart aching as I reached for him, wrapping my arms around him.
He didn’t resist.
He buried his face against my shoulder, his breath warm against my skin.
