** Josie’s POV **

I straddle Mason backwards so there’s no risk of me touching his wounded chest. It’s not ideal and I hate having to do this whilst he should be resting but needs are a must. This stupid heat is really inconvenient. Why have they not found some way of suppressing it yet? It would be extremely handy in times like this. Why would my wolf force this to happen right now? Is she insane? I feel her bristle under my skin at that thought. It’s probably not the best time to argue about this with her.
“Slow down” Mason breathes and I try to pace myself but this angle feels so good. If Mason is not enough then I don’t know what will happen. Unless Deacon miraculously wakes up then I need to make this last until the rest of my bonds arrive. What would even happen if my heat is not satisfied? Surely it would have to pass eventually. I look over at Deacon, I imagine he’s watching me and moan at the thought. I won’t let him deny our bond any longer. We almost lost him tonight, I’m not risking losing him again before I’ve even had a chance to be with him. As soon as he is able I’m going to make him mine, no more excuses.
“Fear not, the Calvary has arrived,” Theo announces as he bursts through the door followed by Axel and Luke. Theo stops dead in his tracks causing the other two to almost knock him over. “Damn, that’s hot,” he says before rushing to my front. “But I can take it from here,”
“Don’t you fucking dare,” Mason groans before Theo can lift me off of him.
“Seems our wounded soldier is feeling better already,” Theo grins before he crawls up on the bed in front of me, and places my hands on his shoulders to give me some leverage. He leans forward, kissing me until I climax. Mason follows moments later with a grunt as he releases his load. Everyone seems to wait with bated breath, including me. When it’s clear the wave of heat is over I sigh in relief.
“I’m good,” I tell them.
“Is anyone else slightly disappointed?” Theo pouts, helping me off of the bed.
“This is not the ideal location but I’d never say no,” Luke grins.
“Oh, and is no one bothered about sleeping beauty over there?” Theo frowns when he notices Deacon is in the
room.
“He’s sedated, but he’s also my bond so it’s fine,” I tell him.
“I fucking knew it! All this time I knew it! Oh just wait until all the students find out, I mean we technically own the academy now too right? We share everything so hell yeah! I’m going to be handing out detentions like candy… Oh, you won’t let me cut in front of you in the dinner line… Detention!….. Did you just side–eye me, Bitch?…. Detention!” Theo rambles excitedly, issuing detentions to all his fictional classmates for the slightest reason. I shake my head with a laugh.
“Calm down, we need to keep this between us for now. At least until I’ve had a chance to talk to him myself,” I say.
“Don’t you worry, Sir, we will run the academy whilst you recover. Actually, it’s weird to call you Sir now,” Theo frowns as he goes to stand by Deacon’s side.
“How do you have so much energy right now?” I groan, feeling exhausted. Axel helps clean me up and then he picks me up and lays me on the bed next to Mason’s uninjured side. Mason wraps an arm around me and pu against him. A move I don’t think he’s ever done before. Maybe I should get his brain checked for injury.
“I’ll go and let the doc know it’s safe to come back in here,” Luke says before leaving. He returns moments later, hurrying in. “We’ve got company,” he says right before an angry–looking woman barges through the door,

followed by a panicked–looking Dot. Mason’s arm tightens around me.
“Mum, I told you he’s fine,” Dot tries to calin her.
“Then why wouldn’t you let us in here to see him?” she demands. When her eyes find Mason they instantly soften. “Oh gosh! I was so worried when I got the alert, I got here s soon as I could,” she says.
“I’m fine, you can leave,” Mason grunts.
“Moo, don’t be like that. I haven’t seen you for months, you don’t call or answer my messages. I had to find out from your sister that you are bonded,” her eyes move to meat that last part and I feel awkward. Is now the time to introduce myself? Three men move into the room and the atmosphere becomes extremely tense. My bonds shift, moving closer to the bed, they’re closing ranks around us. One of the men catches my eye and he seems familiar to me but I’m not sure why. The way he stares at Mason with a smug expression makes me sure this is the asshole that hurt him. He is enjoying seeing Mason like this. My wolf bristles under my skin and a low growl sounds out in the room. I’m not sure which one that was though as we all seem to be having the same reaction. Dot whimpers and runs from the room, her hands covering her mouth.
“Cash, maybe it’s better if you wait outside,” Mason’s mum suggests softly and the asshole scowls at her. “I understand your need to check on Mason, but our bond is in heat, now is not a good time for visitors,” Luke attempts to diffuse the situation…
“Then take your bond elsewhere whilst we visit with our son,” Cash snaps at him.
“Not going to happen, we are not leaving,” Theo steps forward, his voice more menacing than I thought possible as he squares up against Cash.
“Theo, don’t,” Mason says and I can hear the fear in his voice. He’s no longer the Mason I know, he’s the scared little boy this man had made him. It breaks my heart and fills me with rage.
