“Well, I guess to a large extent Arthur is a man of his own but I think he also has some alliance with some other bigger packs, don’t ask me how he does it because I wouldn’t be able to tell you, I just don’t know but he does. And although her explanations were understandable, they left me with more questions. What pack would ally with an illegal pack? That made them one too. What would the consequences be if my father discovered this pack? How long could this alliance that he had kept the pack and its occupants growing? I had only been here for a week but it felt like the pack had increased in size in that period it was hard to believe.
I sighed heavily, rubbing my temples to chase away the ache that was starting to form there. The more answers it seemned I got, the more my questions grew. Maybe I needed a break from thinking about all of these things.
“Just don’t think too much about anything Jessy. It’ll be fine.” Lila said and I nodded, moving my empty plate to the sink.
“Thanks for breakfast, I’m going to head out now,” I said.

I nodded and made my way out of the house. The sun was shining brightly now and it had my blood thrumming under my skin, I enjoyed being out like this but my situation at home didn’t allow for me to do it as often as I would want.
As I walked farther I came across a vacant sign. It was a small cafe and it was opposite the pack school, I couldn’t remember seeing this during the tour with Stephen but it wasn’t hard to see why. The small building was almost hidden and if it wasn’t for the big board in front of it that had a vacancy sign, I might have missed it.
I braced myself and walked into the small cafe, I scanned the space and there was a small family by the corner. A father and what looked like his sons. Both boys had their heads bowed which almost made me question it and while the man was chewing loudly and talking on the phone. There was a girl behind the counter and I walked towards her with a smile plastered on my face.
“Hi. I saw your vacancy sign and I was hoping I could apply?”
“Yes of course, please hold on.” She responded with a smile before dashing inside. She was soon out with an older–looking

“Jessy, do you have any experience with being a barista? Have you ever worked in a cafe before?” He asked and I shook my head slowly.
“No, I don’t but I’m a fast learner and I’m great at communicating with people.” I tried and Mitchell’s face lit up.
“Perfect! That would surely be a relief for Ashley. You know when them hot warriors come in here all sweaty and shirtless midday from all that training and order some iced coffee she is always close to tears trying to serve them.” Mitchell revealed and I laughed loudly.
