Chapter 245
Chapter 245
Jessy’s POV:
My alarm ringing at the other end of the room made me wonder why I still listened to these life coaches I watched on the
media.
“Put your alarm across the room when you go to bed, so when it rings in the morning you have no choice but to get up instead of just hitting the snooze button.” One had said last night.
And it had made sense, it had made a lot of sense, but it still wasn’t enough to explain the anger I currently felt at actually trying it. I groaned before moving off my bed to turn the damn thing off. It had been one week of living in this pack and I was happy to say that I was settling in pretty fine. It was less overwhelming and I wasn’t as lonely as I feared I would have been.
While Lila was barely around, she tried as best as she could to keep me company and take me out when she was around, and then Stephan. Goddess, he was wonderful.
I moved towards the bathroom to brush my teeth and splash some water on my face. I had set my alarm to go off earlier today because I wanted to speak to my parents and I knew how busy their schedules could be. My phone began ringing just as I exited the bathroom.
“Hi, princess.” My father’s voice came through the phone the moment I responded.
“Hi, Daddy.”
“Greyson put the damn phone on speaker. I want to talk to her too and you were supposed to wait for me.” I heard my mother’s voice and I laughed.
“Hi, Mom!”
“Well, you were taking too long.”
“Hi baby, how’ve you been? Oh, it feels so weird not being able to sneak into your room and gossip. You know your father had a grill night last night and you needed to see the old men go at it. The karaoke was horrible! If everyone didn’t know we were mates, I would have completely denied him. I have video eviden-“
“Baby, you promised to delete that!”
“No, I promised to not show it to anyone. Jessy is our child, so she doesn’t count.”
“Anyway, how have you been doing babe? Your mom wouldn’t let me call you five times a day like I’ll really want to. She says it’s weird and we should call you every other day like normal people.”
“It doesn’t have to be every other day but it also doesn’t have to be five times a day. There can be a balance.” I said softly and laughed loudly when I heard them both whisper ‘Told you.’
“How has it been? Do you hate it? You can always come home you know?” My father said and although I could hear the teasing in his voice, I wasn’t happy that a large part of him still wasn’t okay with my new situation, it made me realize that no matter what I did he might never be happy with this decision.
“No Dad, I don’t hate it. I’ve met some really good people and I think I’ll enjoy it here just fine.” I said and just like the first time I had spoken to my parents since my arrival here, I had to bite my tongue on finding Simon.
His sudden disappearance had affected all of us and I know that my parents had been genuinely worried, but now things were different. Everything was different, he was no longer the boy they used to know, our situation was different, I had made a vow to Lila that I knew I couldn’t break.
“Well, I’m really happy to hear it, baby. Let us know if you need anything.”

Chapter 245
“I will, I’m going to try and get a job today.”
“Oh honey, you don’t have to.”
“Yes Mom, I know that but I also cannot continue staying indoors doing nothing all day. I’ll waste away, that’s what Dad always tells Kevin, right Dad?”
“Of course, which the boy would listen to me though, I bet you he is currently in his room right now wasting away.
“Babe, it’s barely six in the morning and it’s the weekend. Let him sleep,”
“Well, you hear Kyla moving around and you’re talking to Jessy right now so…”
