My Mother Died At My Wedding Chapter 41

My Mother Died At My Wedding Chapter 41

“Sorry, I don’t want to marry you. Let’s break up. I don’t love you anymore.”

In the dream, Freya pulled her hand away and walked farther and farther away.

“Freya! No! You can’t do this! I’ll treat you so well. You love the cream puffs from Eastland, right? I’ll buy them for you every day. Jewelry, property, shares—everything I have, I’ll give it all to you. Just stay with me, please!”
Jack begged desperately, his voice trembling with emotion.
But Freya’s figure never looked back. Not even a single glance.
He chased after her with everything he had, but all he caught was empty air. Even the two engagement rings in his hand had disappeared.
Freya didn’t want him anymore. She didn’t want his love or anything else he could offer.

“Freya… Freya…”
Jack murmured her name over and over, his eyes tightly shut. Cold sweat glistened on his pale face, and blood beaded on his lips where he had bitten them.
Elliot watched, his clouded eyes shadowed with worry. He let out a deep sigh as his assistant finally came through with Freya’s latest contact information after days of searching.
“Hello, Madam Sophia, it’s me, Jack’s grandfather. We met at your wedding.”

Freya had just finished assisting a customer when she received the call, leaving her momentarily confused.
“Mr. Sterling, is there something you need from me? If it’s to convince me to reconcile with Jack, then I’m afraid we have nothing to discuss.”
It had been a while since she’d last been bothered by Jack, and she had assumed he had finally given up.
But now, it seemed he had found another way—sending his grandfather to intervene.
A mocking smile tugged at Freya’s lips.

Elliot’s voice carried a hint of weariness, but he still tried to reason with her.
“Madam Sophia, I know it was Jack who wronged you, and I don’t expect you to forgive him. But he’s sick now. I’m not asking for much. Please visit him one last time, to give him closure. And don’t worry, I won’t let him bother you again. Consider this an old man’s plea.”

On the other end, Freya remained silent for a long time.
