My Mother Died At My Wedding Chapter 33

My Mother Died At My Wedding Chapter 33

If he could, Jack would drag his past self out and beat him senselessly. If he had only stayed true to his heart, none of this would have happened.
As he stood lost in his self-recrimination, a striking blonde in a tight-fitting dress spotted him. Her eyes lit up immediately. It had been ages since she had seen such a handsome and uniquely magnetic man from his part of the world.
Raising an eyebrow, she sauntered over with a practiced smile, smoothly striking up a conversation.
“Hey, handsome, interested in grabbing a drink?”
The moment her hand touched Jack’s shoulder, he recoiled as if it were venomous.
“Get lost!”
The icy aura radiating off him should have been enough to send her packing, but instead, it only fueled her determination.
She leaned closer, using her curves to tempt him further.
In the next instant, Jack shoved the blonde woman to the ground with unrestrained disgust, showing not a shred of mercy. The force of his action was so brutal it felt as though her bones might snap.
Terrified now,
the woman scrambled to her knees, pleading desperately for forgiveness.
“I’m sorry! I won’t do it again, I swear!”
The woman begged relentlessly, her voice hoarse from pleading. It wasn’t until her cries grew faint that Jack finally seemed to realize what he was doing. He released his grip abruptly.
“Don’t follow me again. You disgust me.”
Every part of him felt tainted, defiled by the encounter, leaving him utterly repulsed. Unable to shake the feeling, Jack booked a room at the nearest hotel.
Scalding water cascaded over him in the shower, but he didn’t move, numb to the searing heat. His skin turned crimson, nearly raw from the intensity, yet he kept scrubbing as if he could wash away something invisible clinging to him.
“Freya, I’m not tainted. Please don’t see me that way. I really know I was wrong. Look, today a woman tried to throw herself at me, and I didn’t even hesitate to push her away. Don’t leave me, okay?”
He repeated the words over and over, his whisper teetering on the edge of madness.
