My Mother Died At My Wedding Chapter 19

Messages of support flooded the chat, countless strangers moved by her calculated performance of grief and desperation.
Some overly zealous viewers, consumed by their outrage, rushed to Lily’s address, determined to protect her.

Lily didn’t hesitate to share her location with each of them.
Before long, a crowd had gathered outside her building, eager to shield her from any perceived threat.
“Don’t be afraid, Lily! Even if he’s powerful, he’s in the wrong. We’re here for you, we won’t let him hurt you!”

Surrounded by a wall of self-proclaimed protectors, Lily cradled her stomach, feeling an overwhelming sense of security.
But her confidence shattered the moment Jack arrived.
Stepping out of a sleek black car, flanked by a team of imposing bodyguards, his expression was icy and unreadable.

“Get rid of these nuisances,” he commanded in a cold, detached voice.
The bodyguards sprang into action, swiftly clearing the crowd.

In less than a minute, the area in front of Lily’s door was empty.
“Lily… I’m sorry,” she stammered, her voice trembling. “I did something I shouldn’t have, but it’s only because I love you! I said those things out of desperation… I just want to be with you!”
She leaned weakly toward him, clutching at his sleeve, pleading.
Jack let out a sharp, humorless laugh.

His fingers dug into her chin with unrelenting force, leaving bruises on her delicate skin as his eyes blazed with fury.

“Do you know what your biggest mistake was, Lily?” His voice sliced through the air, barely above a whisper but sharp as a blade. “You never should have gone after Freya. I warned you again and again. Freya is my life. And now, thanks to you, she’s gone. You’re going to pay for that.”
With that, he shoved her aside with such force that she stumbled backward, barely catching her balance after several unsteady steps.

“My baby! Please, don’t harm my baby!” she cried, clutching her stomach in desperation.
She looked at Jack, her face pale with disbelief. She had never imagined he could be so ruthless.
“Jack, is Freya really that important to you? What about me? What about the child I’m carrying? Are you really willing to abandon your own baby?”

Tears carved paths down Lily’s cheeks as her voice rose, raw with anguish.
“We’ve spent so many nights together, Jack! You kept coming back to me! I refuse to believe you feel nothing for me!”

She screamed until her voice broke, but Jack didn’t even spare her a glance of pity.
