Stephen wanted to take Howard to Ethan. Since they both would only have a life on the inside, Stephen thought it was appropriate for them to meet and cry in each other’s arms.
“I bet it’s going to be funny. I should have everything ready to take a picture.”
Howard looked haggard dressed in his orange jumpsuit during his first day in prison. It seemed like he had aged ten years overnight.
His hair was a mess, and he looked out of it.
Stephen approached his cell and said, “How do you feel, Howard?”
Howard glanced up at him but did not say anything.
Stephen snickered. “If you hadn’t turned me down, things might have turned out differently. I guess there’s no turning back now.”
Howard remarked solemnly, “Are you here to make fun of me?”
“Not at all.” Stephen said with a smile, “I’m here to help you. Come with me.‘
He led Howard to a car, and they set off for Drakthorn Ridge.
As the car went up a mountain, Howard perked up. Was he going to be executed, or was he being brought to Ethan’s grave?
Minutes later, the car pulled up outside a villa.
Howard was puzzled as to why there was a villa on the mountain. Nevertheless, he followed Stephen into the house, and his jaw dropped when he saw Ethan basking under the sun on a lounge chair in the yard. The man seemed asleep.
Without a word, Stephen pulled out his phone in preparation for a heart–wrenching scene.
“Mr. Rivers!” Howard rushed to Ethan emotionally.
Ethan opened his eyes and sat up as Howard dropped to his knees.
“I failed you, Mr. Rivers. I’m sorry I couldn’t complete the task you gave me.”
Ethan looked at him and glanced at Stephen who was in stitches not too far away. It was

“Get up.” Ethan said indifferently, “You’ve done your best.”
For Seaside City to enjoy tranquility for three years and a boost in GDP from 50 million dollars to 1.8 trillion dollars, it was mostly thanks to Howard.
Howard rose to his feet and said emotionally, “I’m so glad to see you’re okay. I thought

something had happened to you.”
Ethan smiled and replied, “Relax. Nothing will happen to me.”
Not even the South Regent could harm him.
Seeing Ethan alive and kicking, Howard’s eyes sparkled with renewed hope.
Stephen stood there with his phone in hand for a while, expecting to see the two of them in a tearful embrace. Instead, Ethan and Howard seemed to have a lovely conversation.
Suddenly feeling like a fool just standing there, he put away his phone and approached
them.
“Well, isn’t this a reunion of sorts, with both of you as prisoners? Hahaha! How does it feel?” Stephen looked at Ethan with a smirk. “Howard’s business and his men are mine
now.
“Everything you worked so hard to build is now in my hands. Tell me. What’s on your mind?”
Stephen stared Ethan down, eager to see despair, anger, and hopelessness.
However, Howard chided, “Watch your language with Mr. Rivers. That’s disrespectful!”
Ethan had given so much for Riveria. To have someone take everything from him and flaunt it right in his face was beyond disrespectful.
Ethan glanced at Stephen and said, “Disrespect is nothing in the face of incompetence.”
Stephen was lost for words. He did not know what to say.
Incompetence? Stephen exhibited leadership among his generation in Metropolis, yet Ethan labeled him incompetent.
“You’re trying to bring me down, but you can’t upset me. I am from Metropolis, and that itself grants me the talent to outdo you. I can do everything you can and cannot do.”
