Chapter 465
Nolan trembled,
ole “9“, “Evidence? That’s impossible!”
He had watched Stephen throw the evidence into the river himself. Moreover, between Jeremy posting everything online and his arrest, there had not been enough time for Jeremy to give Ethan any evidence.
Ethan slowly took out a phone and placed it gently on the table. A recording played from the phone.
The moment Nolan heard the first sentence, he froze. It was his conversation with Rory in the car after Rory’s first deal with Jeremy. The recording did not only confirm the successful transaction, but it also included Nolan praising Rory. If that got out, he’s life would be over!
“How do you have this recording?” Nolan could not maintain his facade anymore.” Even Jeremy didn’t manage to get his hands on this.‘
He truly thought he had won against Ethan and managed to get the upper hand However, reality had given him a rude awakening.
Won? He had been under Ethan’s control the entire time! One move from Ethan could destroy not just him but his entire family.
His face burned with shame, and his head spun. The confidence he once had—the arrogance with which he had spoken–all now felt like slaps across his face. It was not just painful; it was crushing.
Looking over at Ethan again, Nolan saw that slightly raised corner of his mouth–a smile that looked like a smirk.
“I had someone bring me the recording,” Ethan said. “In fact, it’s someone you know.”
Nolan heard footsteps approaching from behind. When he turned back and saw who it was, he was thunderstruck.
It was Rory Carter, his childhood friend and trusted subordinate!
“You!” Nolan nearly lost his balance, his chest heaving with rage.
“I’m sorry,” Rory said, his head slightly bowed. “I had no choice.”
“How could you have no choice?” Nolan demanded.

Chapter 465
Ethan replied, “He’s wanted in Riveria and hunted by the South Regent beyond the border. Sure, he can hide on his own, but what about his family? Why do you think he still has a way out?”
Rory’s silence had more or less confirmed those reasons. Only now did Nolan realize the scale of his miscalculation.
He turned back toward Ethan, no longer daring to speak as boldly. Exhaustion weighed heavily on him now, both mentally and physically.
Ethan’s move had turned even his brother–in–arms against him. How could he fight back?
Now he understood why his father and older brother had warned him not to mess with Ethan.
“Of course, even without him, I have other evidence too,” Ethan said softly. “Come out.”
A door nearby opened with a click, and everyone turned to look. The moment they saw who stepped out, their eyes widened in shock.
Even the South Regent, who had been sitting, shot to his feet in disbelief. It was because the person standing before them was Jeremy, alive and well!
Nolan looked like he had seen a ghost, his face drained of all color as he stumbled backward and fell.
Soon, Jeremy walked out of the room.
Seeing Ethan, he dropped to his knees. “Thank you for saving my life, Lord Rivers.” The South Regent, Andy, Marcus, and Rory all exchanged shocked glances.
“Lord Rivers, how did you save him?” the South Regent could not help but ask.
“Jeremy’s time wasn’t up yet. The ones carrying out the execution were all my people.”
As soon as those words left his lips, the room fell silent. It was such a simple, casual statement, but everyone understood the weight it carried.
Ethan’s network was far more extensive than they had realized. He might have people indebted to him in every corner of Riveria.
Nolan’s breathing grew rapid as the realization hit him.
