More people boarded the bus. They had come to take Fabian back and originally wanted to confront Jeremy, but when they saw Jeremy’s pathed expression, they decided to let it go.
Their real enemy was Nolan! Both Jeremy and Fabian were simply victims.
Everyone got onto the bus, and only Jeremy remained standing by the road. The door closed with a bang.
“Fabian, we’re going home!” the girl’s voice shouted from inside.

The bus started and slowly drove away.
Jeremy watched it leave, then snapped back to his senses and frantically chased after it, but there was no way he could catch up to a bus. He could only watch as it disappeared.
He sat on the roadside in a daze. He had believed Nolan, which caused Fabian’s death. He had betrayed Fabian’s trust!
Jeremy took out his phone and called Stephen to tell him about Fabian’s death.
Stephen was instantly furious. “You still believe the South Regent?”
Jeremy hung up, knowing that Stephen would not listen. He slowly stood up and made up his mind. He would continue investigating Nolan! Even if not for himself, then for Fabian!
Fabian wanted to expose Nolan’s schemes and bring peace to Hill City in exchange for Ethan’s autograph. Since Jeremy caused Fabian’s death, he would fulfill those wishes in his place!
“My identity has been exposed. I can’t infiltrate his company anymore. I need a new plan.”
Jeremy wracked his brain, but his mind was too chaotic to come up with any ideas. He had no money to bribe the Spencer Group employees, no means to sneak into Nolan’s house, and would not get any help from Stephen, who was beginning to distrust him.

Jeremy froze the moment the thought crossed his mind. The only person who was willing to help him was dead because of him.
Fabian’s voice message replayed in his head.
“Lord Rivers!”
Jeremy thought of Ethan and trembled with excitement. Just as he was at his wit’s end, Fabian’s voice message reminded him of Ethan. Was he… helping him one last time?
Jeremy looked in the direction the bus left. Although Fabian had helped him so many times, he ultimately caused Fabian’s death. He should have been the one who died instead!

Jeremy booked a flight to the capital and landed when it was 7 p.m., then headed up the mountain without waiting.
He stumbled in the dark path, ignoring the scratches on his body. All he wanted now was to meet Ethan.
After an hour and a half, he finally arrived at the villa at 8:30 p.m., but the door was closed. Jeremy gathered his courage and knocked on the door.

“Lord Rivers. Open the door. It’s Jeremy. I need your help!”
There was no response.
“It’s Jeremy Davis. Lord Rivers, please open up!”
There was still no response.

Jeremy knelt on the ground. “It’s Jeremy. Please give me a chance, Lord Rivers!”
Half a minute later, the door opened with a click.
Ethan looked at Jeremy kneeling at his door. “It’s late. Couldn’t this wait until tomorrow?” Jeremy lowered his head. “I’m sorry for disturbing you. It’s urgent.”
Ethan did not believe him. What could be so urgent? Even if Riveria collapsed, it had nothing to do with him.
Ethan opened the door and walked back into the living room.
Seeing this, Jeremy knew that Ethan was giving him permission. He immediately got up to his feet and followed.
