Chapter 443
Jeremy silently watched from the side, wondering what trick Fabian was going to pull.
Under the accomplice’s instructions, Fabian successfully found the switch to the hidden room. He rotated the desk lamp, and with a click, a bookshelf shifted.
“It’s open!” Fabian walked over and pushed open the bookshelf, revealing a new room.
The room was not large–barely ten square meters–but it contained several cabinets. However, most of them were empty since Nolan had only arrived in Hill City recently and did not have much information that needed to be hidden.
On the desk in front of the room was a folder. Fabian quickly walked up to it and picked it up. Opening it, he found Nolan’s order.
“Found it.” Fabian walked up to Jeremy and passed him the folder.
Jeremy looked at it and saw that it contained details of transactions with foreign forces. For example, who the recipient was and how many explosives were sold. He narrowed his eyes, trying to figure out if this order was real or fake. After all, it was Fabian who told him about the order, and Fabian was the one who handed the order to him.
Jeremy had been led on the whole time, and Fabian worked for the South Regent. Stephen’s words rang in his ears. Fabian, or rather, the South Regent, was trying to use him to get rid of Nolan.
Nolan was the current mayor. If anything happened to him, Hill City, which was just about to get better, would face danger again.
At that moment, Fabian’s phone rang. As soon as he answered, the accomplice’s urgent voice said, “A large number of vehicles are approaching the villa. Get out of there now!”
Fabian’s heart skipped a beat. He looked up at the corner of the room and saw a camera aimed directly at them!
“Shit, we’ve been caught. Let’s go.”

He grabbed Jeremy and was just about to leave. However, as soon as they exited and went into the study, they saw that the lights in the living room were turned on, and a man was sipping red wine on the sofa.
Jeremy and Fabian looked closely and instantly froze as if their hearts were being squeezed by a vice. The person on the sofa was none other than Nolan!
“Since you’re already here, why leave so soon?” Nolan asked calmly and coldly. “Have a seat.”
Fabian gritted his teeth, realizing that he had fallen into a trap. Nolan knew that they would come, so he spread the news that he was leaving to bait Jeremy and Fabian to break into his home.

The two walked to the sofa and sat down.
“What are you two gentlemen doing in my home in the middle of the night?” Nolan asked with a smile.
“Would you believe me if I said we got lost?” Fabian smiled awkwardly.
Nolan chuckled. “What do you
think?”
Fabian stopped smiling and said, “You’d better let us go. Do you see this guy beside me? He works for Stephen.”
That was one of the reasons why he brought Jeremy along. Jeremy worked for Stephen. Although Stephen was incompetent his status was so powerful that even Nolan would not dare to openly offend him.
Nolan narrowed his eyes at Jeremy, thinking, ‘No wonder Stephen came to search the house earlier. It’s because Jeremy tipped him off! Fortunately, I was more cunning, or it would’ve been dangerous.‘
Nolan said, “Even if you work for Stephen, you owe me an explanation for breaking into my house at night.”
“We heard you were collaborating with foreign forces and came to search for evidence,” Jeremy said.
“Me collaborating with foreign forces? Do you have proof?” Nolan laughed. “You sure know how to joke around.”
