Chapter 441
The next day, at 9 in the morning, Jeremy informed Stephen about the order.
“So, the South Regent’s subordinate called you last night and told you that the order is in Nolan’s house?”
Stephen found it hard to believe. The South Regent’s subordinate worked too quickly. He just told Jeremy that there was an order form as evidence last night. Now, he found where it was, and it just so happened to be in Nolan’s house?
If it were him, he would either get rid of the evidence as soon as possible or hide it somewhere no one knew of. Why would he keep it at home?
“Are you telling me this because you want me to search Nolan’s house?” Stephen asked.
Jeremy nodded. “Yes.”
Stephen sighed in exasperation. “I’ll go have a look.” He wanted to bring Jeremy with him, but the latter refused.
“I shouldn’t show up. If he sees me, he’ll be on guard at the office.”
Stephen thought about it and felt that it made sense. He took the others with him to Nolan’s
house instead.
At the villa, Nolan had just left the house when he saw Stephen approaching with several people. “What brings you here?” he asked curiously.
“I need to talk to you. Let’s go in.” Stephen walked into Nolan’s house as if it were his own. He sat down in the living room and said to Nolan, “Have a seat.
Then, he signaled for his men to start searching the house.
Nolan narrowed hi
eyes at the scene. “What are you doing, sir?”
Stephen said calmly, “Did you know that someone in Hill City has been doing business with the forces abroad recently?”
Nolan frowned. “No, I didn’t.” He had hidden the matter well and was sure that no one knew. How did Stephen find out about it?
“I heard that you have an order form for one of those transactions, so I came to search.”
Nolan laughed. “That’s ridiculous. I oppose the foreign forces. They’ve destroyed our peace and try to sneak into our borders every day. I want nothing more than to have them all captured. Why would I work together with them? However, feel free to search my house if you suspect me.”
The order was still in the villa, but he had hidden it in a secret room. He was sure that Stephen’s men would not find it.`

Nolan sat to the side, constantly wondering. He had always been secretive, How did Stephen get the news so quickly? Was it the South Regent Not necessarily! It seemed he had to be more careful
Half a day passed, and all of Stephen’s men came back. “We didn’t find anything related to the order.”
Stephen nodded at them. “Good work.”
He then stood up and looked at Nolan. “It seems you were framed after all. Look after yourself. I’ll be leaving now.”
Stephen led his men away after failing to find the order, but he was not surprised by this outcome. In fact, it was what he expected. He had also been observing Nolan while the others were searching the villa. Nolan had remained completely calm without any trace of
nervousness.
After leaving the villa, he immediately called Jeremy and informed him that they did not find anything.
“I had my men search the whole villa, but there was nothing. That only leaves one possibility -you were deceived.”
“How could that be?” Jeremy was astonished.
“I told you, the South Regent and his subordinates are despicable and shameless. They can twist lies into truth. Don’t believe a single word they say.”
After hanging up, Jeremy called Fabian. “The order wasn’t in Nolan’s house.”
Fabian was shocked. “Stephen couldn’t find it?”
“Yeah, he couldn’t,” Jeremy answered.
After a moment of silence, Fabian said, “As expected.”
