Chapter 419
Edward took a deep breath and said, “We’ve been caught. What else can we do? Let’s just go in.”
Together, they turned around and entered the mansion.
When they arrived, they were confident they could finally take revenge on Ethan. They were sure they would have a chance to humiliate him this time, but now, neither of them could manage a smile.
They stiffly went up to Ethan and sat opposite him at the table, feeling uneasy as they adjusted their postures.
Ethan pushed some bread over to them. “Care for a bite?”
Edward did not touch the bread. “Is this going to be our last meal?”
Ethan chuckled. “It’s your honor to have me serve you your last meal.”
The two of them were silenced knowing it might really be their last meal on earth!
Ethan saw the looks on their faces and knew exactly what they were thinking.
“Don’t overthink it. I’m no longer in charge of Riveria. Now, I’m just a convict locked up in Drakthorn Ridge.”
Edward’s and Tyler’s heads shot up in disbelief.
“What?”
“You’re saying you’ve been arrested? This is your prison?”
Just moments ago, they thought they had fallen into Ethan’s trap again and even begun mentally preparing their last words. Hence, the sudden twist of events caught them off guard.
Ethan was imprisoned! He had fallen from power and was no longer in charge of Riveria!
Ethan calmly said, “Have I ever lied to you
two?”
They started to recall their past dealings. Ethan was right. He had never lied to them. He always gave them choices. It was just that every choice they made cost them dearly.
“If you’re no longer in charge of Riveria, it means we’re finally frèe from your grip!”
Edward and Tyler were thrilled, their hands were shaking with excitement.
Ethan explained, “But that doesn’t mean you’re free to break the law.”
“Of course not! Do we look like criminals to you?”
The two of them nodded and assured Ethan that they were good citizens, but deep down, they knew they were not.

Now that Ethan was no longer in charge of Rivera, who else could stop them? Stephen Quinn? After hearing about Ethan’s arrest and realizing he was not managing Riveria anymore, they finally understood that it had been Stephen stirring up trouble in the cities all along.
What could that useless piece of garbage do to stop them?
Edward watched as Ethan ate his breakfast. Despite knowing Ethan was no longer in power, Edward was not in the mood to celebrate. Just seeing Ethan sitting there, a wave of fear hit him. It was the same fear he felt when Ethan had once toyed with them all like pawns.
He suddenly realized he could never get over the fear for the rest of his life. Now that he was face–to–face with Ethan, he could not even smile in front of Ethan, let alone laugh at him. Neither of them even dared to speak loudly.
Then, Edward spoke up. “With your abilities, you can easily get out of this place. Why don’t we work together and reclaim Riveria? Stephen will surely be on his knees, begging for your forgiveness.”
Ethan took a sip of milk, unfazed. “I have countless ways to make him kneel and beg for and apologize, but even if I don’t do anything, you two will make it happen.”
The Spencers were running out of patience, and true chaos would befall Riveria soon.
With Stephen’s limited abilities, Ethan would not need to intervene. The people Ethan previously defeated would be more than enough to crush and overwhelm the poor young man, ultimately forcing him to step down.
Stephen was not worth Ethan’s time.
Edward was speechless because he knew Ethan was right. Stephen was not even capable of handling the mayors of the different cities, so what was the point of getting Ethan involved?.
“As for your offer to work together, the South Regent came to me yesterday with the same idea,” Ethan explained.
“Huh?”
Edward and Tyler were immediately alarmed.
The South Regent was unlike the mayors of the other cities. His ultimate goal was the entire Riveria. In short, the South Regent was actually an enemy of the Riveria.
“You’re working with the South Regent?” Edward asked, his tone nervous.
