Chapter 412
That was when Tyler understood why Ethan was so bold to come in alone.
“L–Let’s stay civilized,” Tyler quickly stuttered.
Just then, Edward’s stern voice came from nearby. “Apologize to the official immediately!”
Ethan glanced sideways to see Edward walking out with his cane.
Edward took the main seat and scrutinized Ethan closely. “You look unfamiliar. You’re not from Breeze City, are you? May I know your name?”
“Ethan Rivers.”
Edward smiled. “That’s a good name, and you’ve accomplished so much at such a young age- far more than my three sons, at least.”
Ethan replied flatly, “If you want to flatter me, I can give you a pen and some paper. You can write it all down there.”
Edward felt humiliated. He had been trying to butter Ethan up to lower the latter’s guard, but it clearly was to no avail.
“What’s your real purpose for coming here? To arrest us? Or something else?”
“Riveria needs both money and manpower right now,” Ethan said.
Edward narrowed his eyes. “So are you here for money or manpower?”
Nearby, Nolan poured Edward and Ethan a cup of tea.
Ethan picked up his teacup. “Both. I want your money and people to govern Breeze City and Max Spencer’s life.”
As soon as Ethan finished, Edward’s gaze hardened, and his expression turned cold. Tyler also froze before anger filled his face. Max was his brother and the smartest one in the family–the mastermind behind Nolan’s mayoral ambitions and the family’s dealings across the border.
Edward had once said, “With Max here, Breeze City will eventually be ours.”
Now, Ethan wanted him dead!
!
“How dare you!” Edward barked, his eyes fixed on Ethan like daggers.
Ethan slowly put down his teacup. “Give me one reason to spare him.”
“He’s family,” Tyler quickly interjected.
“That reason might mean something to you but not me.”
Tyler was left speechless.

Edward, though, remained calm and quickly got yler to call Max. However, the call would not go through. Worse still, they could not reach Max’s wife and child either.
Tyler called Nolan, getting him to contact Max, but Nolan could not reach him either.
“Dad, we can’t get through.” Tyler started to panic.
Edward stared at Ethan. “I can give you more money. Just let them go.”
“That’s a better reason,” Ethan said. “Transfer it now.”
Edward had no choice but to have Tyler send the money.
After receiving it, Ethan checked the time. “Go ask the South Regent for your people.”
Then, he stood up and added, “I’ve deliberately stalled you for quite a while. I hope you can still make it in time.‘
Once Ethan left, Edward and Tyler quickly sent people to rescue their family. They soon contacted the South Regent, with Edward demanding Max’s return.
The South Regent looked puzzled. “Who’s Max Spencer?”
Edward said through gritted teeth, ‘Didn’t you take him?”
“I haven’t captured anyone today,” the South Regent replied. “Though I did save quite a few people. A few days ago, some people were captured by a ruthless organization here. We wiped them out. Was Max part of that organization?”
Edward had to send the South Regent a photo of Max. With the photo, the South Regent quickly located him.
“He’s alive but a bit mentally unstable. Give us 100 thousand dollars and we’ll release him.” Edward had no choice but to pay.
After some thought, he added, “It’s not just him, there should also be a woman and a child.”
