Chapter 404
Stephen was startled and quickly looked outside, but everything looked normal. Nevertheless, he still felt uneasy. He raised his head and was just about to call the flight attendant when he noticed that the plane was unusually quiet.
Even when the plane shook, there were no panicked voices around. What was going on?
Stephen turned to look at the seat next to him, wanting to see why everyone was so calm.
However, what he saw caused his eyes to widen in fright.
Ethan!
The person sitting next to him was none other than Ethan!
Ethan held several photos of the still body of Penny’s child and Penny collapsed over the child, crying uncontrollably.
“Do you have a grudge against her?” Ethan’s voice sounded.
Stephen paled. “N–No.“.
Ethan asked, “If there’s no grudge, why push her to the brink?”
“I didn’t mean to!” Stephen’s body trembled as he said in agitation, “I didn’t mean to. I didn’t want this to happen!”
;
“Sir?” A melodious female voice rang out. “Sir, wake up!”
Stephen opened his eyes and saw a flight attendant looking at him. He turned to look around again. Ethan was nowhere to be found. The middle–aged woman sitting next to him was somewhat avoiding him.
Only then did Stephen realize that it had just been a dream. He had dreamed of being questioned by Ethan.
“Sir, are you feeling unwell?” the flight attendant asked.
“I’m fine.” Stephen was a little pale, and his face was sweaty. “Thank you for your concern.”
“That’s good. Please call us if you need anything.” The flight attendant left but glanced at Stephen from time to time.
Stephen did not dare to go back to sleep.
He arrived in Riveria at daybreak. Upon landing, the person who came to pick him up was a maid instead of Rachel.
Stephen felt disappointed. He had sent Rachel a message before he returned and thought that she would at least come to greet him. After all, she used to come to pick him up.

He got into the car and asked if Rachel was home. The maid replied that Rachel was sleeping.
Stephen sighed. He could not sleep and did not dare to, but Rachel was still snoozing.
“I need to talk to her.”
The incident with Chloe had affected him. If they did not confront each other honestly and talk things out, it would be torture for both sides in the future.
When Stephen got home, he sat in the living room and waited.
Around 7 a.m., Rachel came out of her room. As soon as she went down the stairs, Stephen said, “We need to talk.”
Rachel glanced at him. “About what?”
“What exactly do you have against me?” Stephen asked. “I’ve done something wrong in your eyes, but at least tell me what I’ve done wrong. How am I going to change if you don’t tell me?”
Rachel stared at him coldly. “You still don’t know what you did wrong? Heh, then you don’t need to change. You’re really hopeless.”
Stephen felt anxious. “You’re being unreasonable.”
“Yes, I’m the unreasonable one.” Rachel snapped. “It’s all my fault. You did nothing wrong at all. Everything’s my fault. I shouldn’t make you apologize. I shouldn’t be unreasonable. My dad is in prison because of you, so I’m your next target now, right?”
Rachel squatted on the ground and began to cry.
Stephen’s eyes widened. He never said that it was Rachel’s fault or that he would target her. He just wanted to have a conversation with her and find out where he had gone wrong. Why was she suddenly crying?
“Don’t cry.” Stephen was at a loss. He had caused George to go to prison. If word spread that he bullied George’s daughter, he would be in trouble. Simon would definitely not let him off the hook.
“I was wrong,” Stephen quickly said. “Don’t cry. I’ll apologize to you. I was wrong.”
Rachel looked up and asked, “Then, tell me what you did wrong.”
Stephen was speechless.
