It was a high school reunion.

Stephen felt a little dazed. After graduating from high school, he went to a prestigious university. Once he graduated, he went abroad for further studies and had only returned a year
ago.
“It’s been eight years since I’ve graduated high school, right?”
He had also received invitations in the previous years, but he could not attend since he was abroad.
Thinking about it now, it had been eight years since he had seen his high school classmates. Even after eight years, there were still some faces that he vividly remembered
Stephen thought of all the frustrating events he had been through lately and decided to attend the reunion. Perhaps chatting with his classmates would ease some of his pressure.
At that thought, he replied to the message and said that he would go. The person who texted him instantly called him.
“Stephen, are you really coming?” he asked excitedly.
“Yes, I’ll be there, Blake.”
Even just from his voice, Stephen recognized it as his high school class president, Blake.
Hatay
Stephen’s high school was not easy to get into. Most students came from wealthy families, and only a few were admitted through sheer hard work.
Blake’s family was wealthy and well–connected in Metropolis. His parents knew all the parents of their classmates, making him an important figure at school.
“I can’t believe you remember me.” Blake laughed. “I’m flattered.”
Stephen had always held the highest status in their class. At school, everyone treated him with a certain level of respect.
“It’s rare for you to attend a reunion, so why don’t you pick the location for this one?”
Stephen smiled. “Sure.”
Then, he asked, “How many people will be attending this time?”
Blake had counted. “Around twenty–four.”
“That’s not much.”
There were sixty–two students in his grade, but only about a third were attending.
Blake smiled wryly. “It’s been eight years, after all. There were more people in the first couple

of years, but everyone’s busy now.”
Stephen did not understand. “Busy with what?”
“Getting married, having kids, working, paying off loans… Some even went abroad. There’s a lot going on.”
Stephen fell silent. He had grown up with the Quinns and had everything handed to him on a silver platter, so he never had to worry about such things. Now, hearing Blake talk about it made him realize how unfamiliar he was with those everyday concerns.
“Enough about that. You can pick a place, Stephen. I can’t wait to share the good news that you’re coming to the reunion. Everyone will be thrilled.“.
Stephen thought about it and said, “Let’s do it at a farmhouse. I’ll cover the expenses.”
Blake immediately agreed. “Great! Thanks for treating us.‘
“It’s nothing.” Stephen chuckled.
The Quinns were never short of money. He received an allowance of 10 thousand dollars daily.
With that, the call ended, and Stephen looked forward to the reunion.
After facing many challenges in Riveria and several breakdowns along the way, he desperately needed a chance to relax. He would put Ethan and Riveria out of his mind and reminisce about his carefree youth with his classmates.
With that anticipation, he slowly fell asleep.
The next morning, the butler’s knock woke him up.
“Sir, it’s time for breakfast. Mr. Simon wishes to see you too.
”
Stephen got up and, upon seeing the familiar spread of a rich breakfast laid out on the dining table, felt a pang of nostalgia. After spending nearly six months in Riveria, he had not quite adapted to the food there. Now that he was back home, he indulged in the meal, savoring every bite.
“The breakfast at home is still the best.”
After breakfast, he went to the living room to see Simon.
“Dad, you wanted to see me?” Stephen asked.
Simon asked seriously, “I just received news that Andy is heading to Riveria. What is he planning?”
Stephen’s expression turned solemn. He did not know how to answer that question. He certainly could not tell his father that Andy was going to help Ethan. If he did, the Quinns would surely make him stand against Andy, and he had already betrayed Andy once. “Maybe he’s going there to settle some scores with those foreign guys.” Stephen came up

with an excuse.
Simon nodded. “I see.”
Relieved that his father believed him, Stephen thought he had dodged a bullet.
However, Simon suddenly hit him with another question. “What are your plans regarding Hill City?”
