After Andy fell asleep, Marcus asked the doctor, “What happened?”
The doctor’s expression was solemn. “He might’ve experienced something traumatic, but don’t worry. He should recover over time with rest.”
Marcus felt slightly relieved and then video–called the White family to explain the situation. Concerned, the family instructed him to bring Andy back to the capital as soon as possible. Marcus agreed and said they would leave first thing in the morning.
Not long after he ended the call, Stephen called. How’s Andy now?”
Marcus sighed. “I have no idea what he experienced outside. He seems very much affected. He suddenly broke down crying when he was eating just now.‘
“It’s that bad?” Stephen gasped.

Marcus added, “The doctor said it’s something he’ll have to rest and work through gradually.”
Stephen nodded. “I’ve assigned more men to keep an eye on Ethan. If anything did happen to Andy, he wouldn’t be able to escape. When Andy wakes up tomorrow, we’ll know what Ethan did.”
With that, the call ended.
That night, both Marcus and Stephen had trouble sleeping. Although Andy had returned, he seemed greatly traumatized, and they had no idea how long it would take for him to recover.
Also, what exactly did Ethan do to him?
Stephen lay on his bed, staring at the ceiling as an idea flashed across his mind. “If Ethan was secretly involved in Andy’s capture, and I live–streamed about Andy looking for Ethan tomorrow, wouldn’t it
wouldn’t it expose Ethan’s ugly nature to everyone even more?”
His eyes lit up. Ethan was already a criminal, and now, he had betrayed the White family’s son. He would be labeled a traitor, a lackey, and a villain!
If those accusations were confirmed, Ethan’s reputation online would be in tatters. People would wish Ethan dead, and he could use that opportunity to blame his failure in managing the cities on Ethan.
That way, Ethan would become the sole target, and he could walk away unscathed. It would kill two birds with one stone!
He leaped out of bed excitedly and quickly contacted a news agency to prepare for a broadcast
tomorrow.
The next day, Andy woke up early. When he opened his eyes, he subconsciously looked around and realized he was in a room, lying on a soft bed, finally remembering that he had been rescued back to Riveria.

He sat up and called out toward the door, and a servant and doctor quickly walked in. The doctor performed a quick check–up, confirming he was alright.
The servant said, “Mr. Andy, breakfast is ready. You may eat after freshening up.”
Marcus also walked in. Seeing that Andy looked much more spirited after a night’s sleep, he breathed a sigh of relief. It seemed Andy was just exhausted last night, making it look like he had an emotional breakdown.
After breakfast, Marcus video–called the Whites again and handed the phone to Andy, allowing them to talk.
“Are you hurt?”
Andy fell silent for a moment before answering, “Yeah.”
He was roughed up every day and thrown through the air by the impact of the explosion. How could he not be hurt? His whole body was battered and bruised!
Andy’s parents were shocked. “Where are you injured?”
“Everywhere.” Andy’s voice was soft, and Marcus sighed beside him.
Andy used to be full of life, speaking loudly, nothing like the weak voice they heard now.
“Come home immediately!”
Andy said, “I’ll come home when I’m done here.”
With that, he hung up.
