Chapter 383
Stephen had also come to seek Ethan, hoping he could help with the search. However, just as he arrived, he was already too embarrassed to ask Ethan for help.
Still, Andy was missing, and the bullet the South Regent sent loomed ominously in his mind. If anything happened to Andy, he would be blamed.
He took a deep breath and said, “I can give you a million dollars.”
With no other way to persuade Ethan, he had to resort to money, hoping it would persuade Ethan to help.
Marcus quickly said, “The Whites could pay you too!”
He fished out his phone and called the Whites, saying that Ethan could help to find Andy, but it would require money.
“The Whites are willing to offer three million dollars, and I’ll personally add another million.”
It totaled up to five million dollars.
Ethan said, “Transfer the money first.‘
It did not take long for the money to be deposited into his bank.
Ethan then picked up his phone and called the South Regent. “Stephen and the Whites will pay you for information on Andy’s whereabouts. Discuss the details with them yourself.”
He put his phone on the table and turned on the speaker.
“How much are they offering?” the South Regent asked.
Stephen’s face turned grim. He had just paid Ethan five million, and now they were expected to pay more to the South Regent. It was as if they were paying for a chance to speak to the South Regent.
To make matters worse, they already had the South Regent’s phone number. They did not need Ethan to make the call for them.
They had been played. The five million was gone, just like that. Ethan walked away with five million without having to do anything!
Stephen said, “A million dollars:”
“Not enough.”
“Three million dollars. Nothing more.”
It was truly the limit. After paying Ethan five million dollars, the thought of giving away another three million made Stephen’s heart ache.

“Fine.” The South Regent said, “Give me your phone number. When I have Andy’s location, I’ll update you.”
After the call ended, Stephen watched as Ethan took his phone back. He badly wanted Ethan to return the five million dollars.
All Ethan did was say one sentence to the South Regent. Stephen could have called the South Regent himself and offered him five million to know Andy’s location, saving himself three million dollars in the process!
Marcus had also knelt for nothing. Worst of all, both of them got chewed up. Stephen started to doubt if he was the real fool in all this.
Ethan glanced at them and said, “Is there anything else you need?”
“Let’s go.” Stephen helped Marcus to his feet, and they left.
After the South Regent received his money, he sent his men to search for Andy. Since the phone they gave Andy had been stolen, it took them most of the day to locate Andy. By late afternoon, the South Regent finally sent Andy’s location to Stephen. Andy was about 80 miles from the border.
Stephen asked, “Since you found him, why not send him back?”
“Pay me more.
Exasperated but left with no choice, Stephen could only order his men to retrieve Andy. By the time his team reached the area, night had fallen.
Word had spread quickly that Andy was about to be rescued, and they desperately tried to capture him. It was their last chance of making a profit.
Chased after by a crowd, Andy was on the run, terrified and disheveled, until Stephen and the Whites‘ men arrived. They managed to scare off most of Andy’s pursuers and killed those who would not back down.
Seeing their advanced gear and serious expressions, Andy panicked even more, thinking they were another group coming for him.
“Don’t run!”
“We’re here to save you and bring you back to Riveria!”
When he finally heard the familiar language, Andy finally collapsed and wailed loudly. Under the starlit sky, Andy hugged the captain and sobbed like a child.
He had finally realized how small and powerless he truly was. All he wanted to do now was to go back and apologize sincerely to Ethan!
