“I…” Andy mumbled softly, “I’ll try my best.”
Now, he was not sure how to face Ethan anymore He had treated a real hero, a savior awaited by countless people, as a country bumpkin and cursed at him disrespectfully.
Andy realized one thing. All this time, he had looked down on Ethan and tried every way to prove that he had surpassed Ethan. However, look at him now–captured in a foreign land, beaten, and ridiculed. He looked no better than a homeless man and was not sure if he could make it through the day, but a family extended a helping hand to him at this moment.
The family wished for Ethan to save everyone outside of the borders. They admired Ethan and mistook Andy for someone from Riveria, which was why they helped him.
He was saved not because he was a son of the Whites or because of his remarkable combat skills from years of training. No, he was saved simply because he was from Riveria, the province Ethan managed. It was Ethan who saved him!
Andy lowered his head shamefully. He had insulted Ethan and even gone so far as to send his men to take revenge on him, but Ethan had never once scolded or blamed him. Now, he had even saved Andy!
Andy regretted it. How could he have been so careless with his words? Why had he been so petty? He was a horrible person!
“Thank you,” the man said, his eyes gleaming with hope.
Suddenly, a deafening crash shattered the silence. The front door was kicked open, slamming against the wall. The sudden commotion startled everyone.
Andy looked up and saw a few malicious–looking men coming in, armed with guns and
machetes.
“What do you want?” the man questioned while he rose to his feet.
However, he never got the chance to do anything before a gunshot rang out with a bang. The leader standing in the front of the group with a scar on his face had pulled the trigger.
The man’s body went rigid, and he collapsed backward, crashing to the floor in slow motion, or so it seemed to Andy. He could only watch in shock as the man who had just saved him, who had been speaking to him moments ago, fell lifeless to the ground.
Hearing the gunshot, the man’s wife came running. The gun was then pointed at the man’s wife and daughter.
“No!” Andy shouted and threw himself forward, desperate to stop them.
Just as he ran over, though, a fist struck his face.
Andy was punched to the ground, and before he could get up, someone stepped on his face,

The men stopped what they were doing.
One of them, wearing glasses, questioned Andy in a language he could understand. “You’re Andy White?”
He was bilingual and usually acted as the translator for the group.
“Yes, I’m Andy White.”
The glasses guy relayed the information to the others. Scarface stared at Andy. They were there to find him because Stephen had issued a hefty reward.
Stephen would pay 30 thousand dollars just for information on Andy, and if someone found Andy, it would be 100 thousand dollars. Stephen even offered 500 thousand dollars if whoever found Andy took good care of him.
Everyone now knew just how valuable Andy was. If they caught him, they could use him to threaten Stephen and at least earn a million dollars!
After getting hold of the news that Andy was there, they immediately rushed over, wanting to take him away before the others arrived.
“Good.” Scarface said, “Come with us.‘
Andy glanced at the wife and daughter. “Whatever issues you have with me, they have nothing to do with it.”
The glasses guy translated his words.
After hearing it, Scarface snorted and aimed his gun at the girl. “You’re in no position to bargain with us.”
