Chapter 362
Under everyone’s gaze, Stephen slowly opened the box. When he saw what was inside, his eyes widened in shock.
His hand trembled, and the box fell to the ground, its contents rolling out. Inside the box was not a ring symbolizing friendship but a blood–stained bullet!
The moment everyone saw the bullet, their hearts skipped a beat.
The South Regent had sent Stephen a bullet on his wedding day? What did it mean? Was he suggesting Stephen should kill himself or that he should kill someone else?
Whatever the meaning, they all knew it was not a blessing from the South Regent, nor was it a peace offering.
The gift bearers explained, “Three years ago, the Grand Marshal’s mentee forced one of the South Regent’s most capable commanders to commit suicide, and this bullet was extracted from his body.”
“The South Regent sends this bullet now to signal that he will seek revenge against the Grand Marshal’s mentee!”
Stephen’s head snapped up, and he looked nervously at those men.
The Grand Marshal’s mentee was Ethan, was it not? Had Ethan driven one of the South Regent’s commanders to death? Well, if they wanted revenge, they should be looking for Ethan instead! Why come after him?
“How dare you! If Stephen could kill their commander, he can kill the South Regent too.‘ Andy reprimanded them, “Does the South Regent have a death wish, sending such a gift to Stephen?”
Stephen’s eyes widened. Only then did he remember that he had stolen Ethan’s identity and that he was now the Grand Marshal’s mentee!
Cold sweat began running down his forehead. The bullet was the South Regent’s warning that he wanted revenge!
Could Stephen really withstand the South Regent’s vengeance?
He remembered Julius‘ death. That was not even the South Regent’s doing, yet someone had died in his arms. What would happen if the South Regent himself made a move?
Stephen’s face grew increasingly pale, his body trembling uncontrollably.
At that moment, George stepped forward and shouted, “Arrest them!”
The group of men simply grinned as they reached into their suit jackets. The security guards about to approach froze in their tracks, and the wedding guests tensed up.

What were they about to do? Pull out their guns and shoot?
The leader of the group spoke, “We came to deliver a gift today. Not only did you fail to offer us a meal or water, but now you want to arrest us? You’re truly disappointing.”
George looked grimm but, fearing they were armed, he did not push further. He could only watch as the men backed away and left. After they left, George quickly called the police.
By now, the grand, romantic atmosphere of the wedding had been utterly shattered. Guests were discussing what had just happened, ignoring the wedding officiant’s attempts to continue the ceremony.
No one else came forward to present gifts. After all, who could top the “gift” from the South Regent–a blood–stained bullet, signifying a fight to the death with Stephen?
Some guests even lost their appetite, worried about becoming targets of the South Regent’s retribution. Although the wedding continued, the earlier festive atmosphere was
gone.
After Stephen and Rachel made their rounds toasting the VIP guests, they left the restaurant. Years ago, Stephen and Rachel had fantasized about what their wedding would be like–extravagant, glamorous, everything they had ever wanted.
Now that they were actually married, however, the reality was far from their expectations. Their enemies had shown up to mock them, and worse still, they had been humiliated in front of everyone.
Stephen dared not imagine how people would react when the wedding video circulated tomorrow. He could already picture the laughter.
That evening, the wedding video did, in fact, hit the internet. The online reaction was brutal.
“Is this Stephen Quinn’s wedding? Is this all the Grand Marshal’s mentee could manage?”
“Letting old enemies walk all over him? How humiliating!”
“Didn’t Stephen defeat the South Regent three years ago? How dare the South Regent act so arrogantly in front of him?”
“Isn’t he the Grand Marshal’s mentee? He sure doesn’t look that intimidating now.”
“This is so embarrassing!”
“That wedding was a complete disaster!”
“If the Grand Marshal knew, he’d probably be rolling in his grave!”
The entire internet mocked them.
