Simon hesitated for a while before calling George. “We came to an agreement…”
George was already mentally prepared. “Tell me.”
“You’ll have to go to jail, but you’ll be released in three years.”
Go to jail for three years?
George smiled wryly. He did not expect a governor like him to end up behind bars.
He regretted it. If he had not chased Ethan away back then, he could have continued as the governor, living a carefree life.
“What about the Lowes?” That was what George was most concerned about. He could handle jail, but what about Rachel?
Simon said, “I’ll protect the Lowes. I’ll get Stephen to marry Rachel right away.”
Upon hearing this, George felt slightly relieved. If Rachel married Stephen, she would be part of the Quinns. He would no longer have to worry about her.

Simon said, “I’ll go see him again. He can’t go on like this!”
He hung up and flew back to find Stephen again.

“How long are you going to be like this?” Simon asked, “Do you know what’s been happening in Hill City?”
After he told Stephen about the recent events in Hill City, Stephen finally showed some
response.
“Because of the situation there and your lack of response, HQ wanted to punish you, but George took the blame.” Simon said, “He’ll be jailed for three years.”
At those words, a spark finally returned to Stephen’s eyes. He could not believe that George was going to prison for three years for him!

Stephen lowered his head. “How could that be? I never wanted any of this to happen…”

“Get a grip,” Simon said. “Once George goes to prison, the Lowes will rely on you. Rachel will have no one else but you to depend on.”
Stephen realized that he had not just harmed George but the entire Lowe family. He sighed powerlessly.
“I plan to arrange your marriage to Rachel in the next few days,” Simon continued. ” You’re not young anymore. It’s time to take responsibility. The Lowes are in dire straits because of you, so you owe it to them to restore their former glory.”
Stephen lowered his head, filled with self–doubt. “Can I really do it?”
“You can!” Simon stood up and said sternly, “You’re a Quinn. How can you ask such a question? Where’s the confidence you once had? A single failure doesn’t mean anything. Life is never smooth sailing. What you should be afraid of isn’t failure but giving up!”
Stephen’s spirit began to perk up. He had killed Julius and Tommy, and now, he had harmed George. He could not continue moping on like this.
From now on, he was the only one Rachel could rely on!
However, the truth was that he did not want to marry Rachel. She had been distant with him recently, and his heart still belonged to Snow.
Simon said, “I’ll stay in Riveria and see your wedding through.”
Stephen understood that he could not escape marrying Rachel.
“Well, I’ll go make the arrangements. Go talk to George. I’m sure he has a lot to tell you.”
Simon left, and George entered.
Stephen felt that George had aged drastically. There were many more gray hairs on his head. “I’m sorry.”
George shook his head. “It’s fine. What’s important is that you’ve pulled yourself together.”
He looked at Stephen and continued, “From now on, you’re the only man left in the Lowes. Don’t let Rachel down, and don’t let the Lowes fall.”
