Stephen also noticed the commotion online.
“They want Ethan to come back…”
Things were getting out of hand. The people thought Ethan was a criminal, but he knew there was no problem with Ethan.
In fact, Stephen knew that if Ethan returned, he would not be able to keep his position, and the truth would come to light. Then, he would be in big trouble!
He quickly called George to help him figure out a solution.
At that moment, George was in Stone Village. Julius had received a tip that someone was selling rare wild animals in Stone Village, so he quickly investigated it, and George followed to keep an eye on him.
Nico welcomed them both warmly. After learning that Julius had come to investigate the wild animal trade, he told the villagers to show him around to check if there was evidence.
Julius agreed readily, and George wanted to go along, but Stephen’s call came at that

George frowned as he listened.
Seeing George’s grim expression, Nico asked, “What’s wrong?”
George said exasperatedly, “There’s been some trouble. Recently, a few companies have been robbed by the villagers, and they’re threatening to bring Ethan back. Otherwise, they’d all leave Hill City.‘
Nico chuckled. “I have an idea. They want Ethan back because they think Ethan can solve their problem. But if you compensate them, they won’t choose Ethan. They will choose you!”
George’s eyes lit up. Believing it was a great idea, he quickly told Stephen about it.
Stephen thought it through. Spending 23 billion to make the companies stay and give up on Ethan was not a bad deal!
“Great idea. Did you think of it?”
George shook his head. “It was Nico, Stone Village’s village chief.”
“As expected of a hero village’s chief. Thank him for me!”
Stephen hung up and quickly got to work. He contacted the company owners and told them that if they deleted those posts, he was willing to pay 23 billion to cover their losses.

The company owners found themselves in a dilemma. If they took the 23 billion, they would be supporting Stephen, but on the other hand, they could support Ethan.
After much consideration, they chose the money. With Ethan still missing, they might have to starve in the future if they supported him now. Getting the money was the safer option!
As such, they deleted all the posts about hoping for Ethan’s return. They even took down the videos they previously posted of the villagers raiding the orchards and farms, temporarily calming the situation.
In Stone Village, George expressed his gratitude to Nico.
Nico smiled. “It’s nothing. I’m glad I could help. Oh, I wonder where Julius went. Let’s look for him.”
Although Nico was sure the villagers could hide everything seamlessly, he sensed that Julius was suspicious of the village.
He had to find a way to stop Julius. If the village were exposed, all of his efforts would have been in vain.
Soon, Nico and George found Julius standing before a house. Seeing the house, Nico immediately frowned because it held someone captive–his son, Tommy!
Since Tommy returned from meeting Ethan, he had been advising his father to let go of his grudge and stop. Ethan must have influenced him!
Julius, however, was starting to grow suspicious of the village. If the two of them met, the truth would be exposed. He could never let that happen.
As Nico hurried over, George called out, “What are you doing here?”
Julius glanced at them and said, “Nothing.”
When he was walking toward the house, he thought he heard someone calling for him inside, but the voice vanished as soon as he approached.
Julius found it strange. Just then, he saw Nico and George.

He did not tell the truth because Nico was hiding something and George did not trust him. Speaking up would only alarm them, and it would be bad if he put the person in the house in danger.
“If it’s nothing, let’s go.” George said, “You’ve checked the village, right?”
Julius nodded. “It seems I was overthinking. There’s no problem with the village. Nico, I’m sorry for the trouble.”
Nico silently sighed in relief but kept a smile on his face. “As long as you’re assured.”
