Nico contacted the villagers who were ordered to move and found out that they were only offered 7 grand per square meter.

Hendrick got carried away by his anger and punched Nico in the face.
However, Nico did not fight back. After Hendrick left, he modified the details and told the villagers that Hendrick beat him up because he saw through the latter’s wicked scheme.
The villagers trusted Nico even more.
Next, Nico led the villagers into the mountains for logging. They didn’t just target the eucalyptus trees; they also went after rare and precious species, including some that were strictly forbidden to be cut down.
The harvest from these rare trees could be smuggled across borders, fetching a high price, with buyers paying by the kilo. Since everyone earned a lot of money under Nico’s lead, they trusted him blindly.
Nico knew the timing was right, so he said to the villagers, “Hendrick is corrupted. He occupied this whole mountain and the mines, forbidding us from making money. He is no longer worthy of being village chief! Vote for me, and I will make sure we all make more money!”
Since he did help the villagers make a lot of money recently, they voiced their support for him to replace Hendrick.
However, the news of Nico logging rare trees and trying to usurp the village chief’s position soon reached Hendrick’s ears.
Upset, Hendrick went to confront Nico again.

“Believe me when I say I will call the police and put you behind bars again!”
Nico scoffed and then revealed his handgun equipped with a silencer. “I don’t believe you.”
Hendrick got scared when he saw the gun, and his face turned pale. His body stiffened as he said nervously, “Nico, calm down. Don’t do this.”
Nico said, “I am very calm. I have been waiting for today for a long time.”
“I’ll let you be the village chief, and I won’t hold you accountable for the logging Just put the gun down,” Hendrick said nervously.
“Everyone looks up to me and wants me to be the village chief. If you die, I will become the next village chief, and you won’t be able to tell anyone about what I did. Why should I let you go now?”

With a muffled gunshot, Hendrick was shot in the head and died on the spot.
It was late and dark. Nico called his son, Tommy, to help him transport Hendrick’s body to
the mountains for a burial.
When Tommy saw the dead body, he was stunned. “Dad, what have
you done?!”
Nico scoffed, “I took him out. This old shit should have died a long time ago. Your uncle helped the villagers to get rich and this old shit gained a lot from there. He earned enough money to build himself three houses here. He was ungrateful and wanted to hold us accountable. He got what he deserved.”
Tommy pulled his phone out with his shaking hand and wanted to call the police.
Nico noticed his son’s reaction and snatched the phone over. He bellowed, “What the hell are you doing? You’re trying to turn your own father in?!
“Did you forget how your uncle died? He died protecting us! Now give me a hand and bring this body to the mountains. We have to bury him!”
Tommy was out of options, thus he was forced to comply with his father.
The two of them dug a hole in the mountains and buried Hendrick six feet under.
The next day, it rained heavily. Nico grinned at the heavy rain. “Look, even the sky is helping us. Ethan Rivers, you are going down this time!”
