George realized that the benefits he offered were totally useless to Ethan. How could he possibly convince him?
After a long silence, George said, “For the sake of our past friendship, just help me once.”
“What friendship?” Ethan asked, “The kind where you sent me to jail?”
George fell quiet. He had nothing else to say and thought he could not convince Ethan anymore. Besides, he had no leverage to persuade him, except to release him.
However, that was impossible. Once Ethan left and exposed the truth to the public, all of their efforts would be in vain.
George turned and left without another word. He could not handle this. He planned to discuss it further with Stephen to see if anyone else besides Ethan could get Dr. Rodman Rodman to help.
George left the mansion and called Stephen on the side of the road, telling him about the situation.
“He refused to help?” Stephen sighed in his heart. The outcome was expected.
“Let me think of another way.” He hung up. After thinking about it, Stephen decided to try tricking Dr. Rodman again.
“I’ll pretend that I’ve already gotten Ethan’s agreement and trick him into helping. That should work.”
Stephen immediately acted and found Dr. Rodman at about six in the evening.
Seeing Stephen, Dr. Rodman’s face was cold. “Go back. I’ve told you clearly that I won’t help you.”
Stephen smiled awkwardly, failing to understand what he had done wrong. In the past, everyone spoke to him politely, agreeing to his every whim.
However, after coming to Riveria, he faced constant setbacks.

“He’s busy with something and couldn’t meet anyone. You should go to save the village chief first. After that, he’ll probably be free.”
Dr. Rodman shook his head. “No. Even if he can’t see me, I need to see him. I’ll only be at ease after I confirm that he’s safe and sound.”
Before the Grand Marshal passed away from illness, he had asked them to take care of Ethan. Besides, Ethan had also saved his life.
Since Ethan’s disappearance and the chaos in Riveria, he thought that Ethan had already met his end.
Stephen’s face turned dark. “Why must you see him?”

Stephen left with his head lowered. He called George and informed him that he would be reaching Drakthorn Ridge immediately.
