The South Regent remained calm as ice. He had been rivaling Ethan for a long time, and albeit never winning once, he had learned many experiences from the exchanges,

The South Regent remained unfazed. Having lost too much, his patience and endurance had reached exceptional levels.

Speaking of Ethan, the South Regent reminisced and thought of what Ethan used to do.
He said, “Let me tell you a story. Two years ago, we had another faction here who could rival me. He was a ruthless and lustful bastard, taking lives like it was lunch and owning a harem of wives.
“His men were basically war maniacs, so people called him the King of War. He has a son as well. A prodigy who’s a lot better than your son.
“His son is also a ruthless one, taking lives as if they were nothing. He led his forces to conquer smaller fractions and strengthen his own.
“The King of War thought the time was right, so he marched against Riveria.
Unfortunately, Ethan found out about it.”
The South Regent sighed. “Do you know what happened after that?”
Simon frowned. He had never heard of the King of War. “What happened?”
The South Regent explained in a trembling voice, “Ethan used his ruthless and lustful traits against him.
“He made the King of War kill his son’s fiance, who was pregnant with his son’s child at that time. His atrocious actions provoked his son, which turned them against each other.
“The faction fell apart, breaking up into two and both sides suffered terrible losses. In the end, the King of War won the battle, but his factions were far beyond repairable. He has

Simon gasped in fear. He had goosebumps after listening to the story.
Ethan barely showed up in the story and simply pulled strings in the back. It was his tactic that wiped out an entire faction without losing anything. His tactics and ruthlessness were unmatched.
The South Regent asked, “Do you know why I am telling you this?”
“Why?” Simon asked.
“It’s because you and Stephen remind me of them. You, the father; Stephen, the son. Stephen is considered one of the most promising young men out there, and both of you have offended Ethan.”
Simon froze. He immediately thought of the bleak end for the King of War and his son.
The King of War did not only kill his daughter–in–law and unborn grandchild. He was also forced to kill his son and ended up on the streets with an insane mind.
Simon regained his composure after a while. “You’re bluffing. We are not the same as the King of War.”
The South Regent smiled and chuckled. “Whatever you say. It’s really like a joke at this point.”
Simon could not find anything amusing about the story. All he felt was fear and awe for Ethan’s tactics and methods.
If even the South Regent feared him, then he must be a powerful one.
“That means I can’t afford to let him out and I should stop Stephen from meeting him. I don’t want my son to fall into his trap!”
Simon immediately thought of Snow.
Ethan had saved Snow and then hid her away, keeping her away from Stephen for life to make Stephen live in regret.
It left Stephen devastated. If not for his intervention, his son would have been done for.
