Back in the meeting room of the federal government’s office, Simon was having a meeting with his men to discuss a solution for the matter, hoping to stabilize Celestial City’s
economy.
They could not afford to lose whatever progress they had made so far.
“There are two issues now. The first one is Lucas hurting himself after the slander, and the other one is deceiving the tourists.”
Someone said, “For the first issue, apology and compensation are a must. We also have to reward them. We will take care of Lucas’s medical fees. Then, that will put a stop to the outrage in the village.”
Simon nodded and added, “I think that’s not enough. We have to relocate them to a better place. They don’t have a place to settle down, so they need somewhere to call home.”
One more issue remained.
“As for the tourists being cheated, it’s not exactly a big deal, but it’s a problem that we must take care of as well. If we can just apologize, things will calm down a lot faster.
Another person said, “Then, we can launch newer tourist attractions or programs for cashback or whatnot. Maybe we can overcome the problem as well. It’s attention nevertheless, so might as well capitalize it and rise higher.”
Everyone provided a calm and rational analysis of the issues. Their suggestions made
sense.
The crisis in Celestial City was an opportunity if they could utilize it properly. Not only could they solve the problem, but they could also make things better!
Simon breathed a sigh of relief. “Great. Things aren’t as bleak as I thought. We still can turn this around.”
Suddenly, his phone rang. He glanced at it and saw Stephen’s name on the screen.
A bad feeling clouded him instantly.
“Dad, something has happened again.”
Simon was rendered speechless. He and his team just came up with solutions to the two issues, and now Stephen was calling him with another problem.
“What is it? I thought you said there were two issues,” Simon asked, his brows furrowed and his tone heavy.
“The mayor is gone. He’s with the South Regent. I just found out about it now,” Stephen said anxiously.

“What?!” Simon was stunned.
The mayor of Celestial City was the South Regent’s man?!
It was unexpected but it explained why Celestial City was in shambles. The South Regent was pulling strings from the dark.
“Go find out what the mayor has done in the past! We cannot afford to let Celestial City go down in ruins!”
He was afraid that the mayor had left traps behind in his absence. If they could not locate the ticking timebombs in time, the damage caused would be irreparable and the city would plunge further into chaos.
“Right away!”
After the call, Stephen went off immediately.
Simon put his phone down and looked at the others with a complicated gaze.
“We’ve got another problem. The mayor is the South Regent’s man.”
The others were shocked.
The South Regent had done it again. Despite being in hiding for the past three years, he had appeared twice recently.
First, he abducted Richard, and now it turned out that the mayor was working for him all along.
“How?!”
“Stephen is there. How dare he?”
“I thought Stephen made him leave Riveria and that he would never come back!”
They couldn’t understand why the South Regent would take action, and of all targets, choose to move against Celestial City, where Stephen was.
To them, the South Regent’s actions were simply suicidal.
“Is he not afraid of Stephen?”
“He left Riveria and swore to never come back. That’s why he’s allowed to live. Now that he has provoked Stephen twice, he’s courting death!”
“Tell Stephen to deal with him once and for all!??
Everyone thought that Stephen was the Grand Marshal’s mentee.
