Michael panicked. As someone close to George Lowe, he knew very well whether these stories were true or false.
If the lies were exposed, it would be a massive blow to the tourism industry around Azure Cloud Mountain and Crystal Lake! It might even affect the food court.”
He hurriedly called for security to disperse the crowd, then rushed off to find Stephen Quinn and George Lowe.
“We have a problem!” Michael burst into the office.
Stephen and George frowned. For over a month, they had been receiving streams of good news. Celestial City’s GDP had recovered to 2 trillion dollars, which was not far from its peak of 2.5 trillion.
Hearing “we have a problem” now seemed like bad luck.
“What’s all the fuss about?” Stephen said coldly. “Calm down and explain.”
Michael was nearly out of breath. “The village chief of those villagers who came seeking justice… He just slammed his head against the wall outside!”
Stephen’s heart skipped a beat, but then he thought about how these villages used to be criminal organizations. If someone got hurt, he had plenty of reasons to distance himself
from the incident.
Was this not just a greedy village chief trying to use his death as leverage, resulting in an accident?
“It doesn’t matter,” Stephen said dismissively. “Those villages used to be lawless. I was already lenient with them, but they don’t appreciate it. Now they’re trying to use death threats. Even if something serious happens, it’s their own fault.”
After all, those villages had been found with restricted knives and homemade guns before. They were definitely criminal organizations.
Michael shook his head frantically. “No, it’s nothing like that! They’ve shed blood and tears for Celestial City in the past! That old village chief’s wife and children all died protecting Celestial City.”
The relaxed expression vanished from Stephen’s face. His eyes suddenly cleared, and he looked stunned.
George stood up abruptly. “What did you just say?”
“Those villages weren’t criminal organizations. They participated in the battle to protect Celestial City years ago. The equipment found in their villages was for fighting against real

criminal organizations! They’re not criminals, they’re heroes,
“Worse still, they’ve exposed our story about the priest and snake demon as a lie in front of everyone!”
Stephen came to his senses, his face turning pale. “How could this happen?”
George frowned. “Did the mayor falsify information? Send someone to keep an eye on him immediately!”
Michael rushed out.
George sat back down, trembling. At that moment, both men felt their minds turning to mush.
Had those villages really been falsely accused?
To think that they had exposed the lies about the tourist area!
If these two pieces of news spread, how much would it impact Celestial City? Neither dared to imagine the consequences.
“Let’s go check outside!” Stephen remembered that the villagers were still protesting out there and hurried out.
By this point, an ambulance had arrived. The unconscious Lucas was being loaded into it. Stephen quickly asked the paramedic, “How is his condition?”
The paramedic’s expression was grave. “The patient is elderly and looks quite frail. The situation doesn’t look good. We’ll need to do a full examination at the hospital to know for sure.”
Stephen ordered, “You must do everything possible to save him!”
If the village chief had truly been a criminal before, that would be one thing. However, with this new revelation he might be an old hero, if anything happened to him, Stephen would be in big trouble…
This would be even worse than the incident with those eight lives in Aqua City!
He turned to look around and saw several villagers glaring at him fiercely. Stephen flinched, instinctively averting his gaze, unable to meet their eyes.
While steering his gaze away, he suddenly noticed the number of people filming videos around him. Instinctively, he shouted, “Stop filming! Everyone disperse! No more recording!”
Unfortunately, no one listened to him.
