Chapter 252
“Now, let’s check out the surrounding area. The last thing I want is to develop a tourist spot and end up ruining someone’s livelihood, driving them to suicide.”
Stephen started by walking around Azure Cloud Mountain. The villages nearby mostly relied on farming for their livelihood and did not seem too concerned about the mountain or the lake. Stephen felt a little relieved.
Then, he decided to climb the mountain to experience the scenery James described. One quick hike, and he had to admit that the scenery was impressive.
Finally, he arrived at the church. The newly built church housed 81 clergy.
Stephen chatted with the minister and learned about the church’s history and rules for recruiting members.
“This church’s history is a bit too shallow. You’ll want to add to it. You can market yourselves better by throwing in some backstory, like a strange childhood experience or visions you’ve had in dreams.
“As for the requirements to join, they’re a bit too strict. Not only do you need qualifications, but you also need money. You can’t be so upfront about it. If people don’t meet your standards, just say the time isn’t right for them yet.”
The minister quickly had someone take notes.
“Thank you for your advice, sir. We’ll make sure to adjust.” The minister smiled and said. ” Sir, we also offer fortune–telling here. Would you like to give it a try?”
James, who was standing nearby, chuckled. “Do clergy engage in this sort of business?”
The minister smiled awkwardly.
Stephen said, “Since I’m here, why not?”
“Very well. I’ll get the cards.”
The minister headed to the back, ordering someone to bring the tarot cards. He quickly replaced the bad cards with the good ones on the top before presenting them to Stephen.
“Please go ahead.”
Stephen reached out and casually picked one.
The minister exclaimed in shock, “You drew the best fortune!”
Stephen quickly asked, “What does it mean?”
The minister studied the card for a moment.

“Wonderful! Wonderful! Simply wonderful!”
The minister’s words filled Stephen’s heart with joy. There was good news in store for him. “It says that everything you’re worried about will soon fade away. In love and your career, everything will be smooth sailing!”
Stephen grabbed the minister’s hand tightly. “Is that true?”
“A man of faith never lies.”
“Hahaha!” Stephen burst out laughing.
If all his worries were to disappear and success awaited him in both love and career, that meant not only would Riveria improve, but he would also secure a seat in the cabinet and live happily ever after with Snow.
Stephen was filled with energy and confidence.
As they descended the mountain, James spoke up again. “I have another idea.”
“Go ahead.” Stephen was in a great mood now.
“I think we can build a food hall at the base of the mountain.”
Stephen considered it seriously. There were no issues around Azure Cloud Mountain or Crystal Lake, so it seemed like a great place to develop a tourist zone. If they could build a food hall in that tourist zone, it would indeed be a nice addition.
“Will there be any pollution?”
The incident in Aqua City had left Stephen traumatized.
“No,” James reassured with a smile. “It’s just food. What kind of pollution would that cause?”
Instead of agreeing immediately, Stephen said, “I’ll think about it.”
He could not afford another failure, so he had to be cautious with every decision.
James simply smiled. Their reaction was all as he expected, and it was all part of the South Regent’s plan.
Back in the city, George asked curiously, “Why didn’t you agree to build the food hall?”
Stephen said, “I’m worried about pollution.”
“Is that all?” George sighed. “What kind of pollution could come from food? Besides, even if there’s a little pollution, what harm could it cause Azure Cloud Mountain? We’re not dependent on water here anyway.”
