Stephen slumped on the sofa, wondering what he could do. His mind was a mess now, and his heart even more so. He could not think of any solution.
Meanwhile, George was not idle either. He racked his brain trying to recall if Ethan had faced such a problem. If he had, how did he deal with it?
After thinking for a while, George came up empty. He was too focused on his good life to pay attention to what Ethan was actually doing
“I’m taking a trip back to Riveria.”
He planned to meet Ethan in person to seek the man’s help, and maybe he could offer Ethan something in return.
Half a day later, George met Ethan, who was lounging in the courtyard, looking relaxed.
George grumbled to himself, ‘Ethan never used to have such a carefree life before. This kind of easy life was what I enjoyed!‘
Ever since he had helped the Quinns plot against Ethan, he had not had a single peaceful day.
“Ethan, the weather is nice today,‘ he greeted Ethan with a forced smile.
Ethan replied coolly, “The weather is nice here but not as good in Celestial City. Why are you here instead of busying yourself there?”
George’s smile instantly faded as he asked, “You know about Celestial City?”
“More or less.”
Again, George asked, “Did you know I’d come to you for help? In that case, you must have prepared a solution. Where is it?
“Show me,” he said excitedly.
Ethan said calmly, “Turn left from the gate and follow the mountain path for 300 meters. You’ll find a cliff. People call it the ‘Line to Heaven‘. It’s 500 meters deep. And the solution is at the bottom of that cliff. All you have to do is jump.
George frowned. “500 meters deep? Won’t I die if I jump?”
Suddenly, it clicked. Ethan was telling him to die! There was no real solution!

Ethan said, “Aren’t you messing with me too?”
To think he, after making a mess of Celestial City, expected Ethan to clean up his mess.
Feeling guilty, George chose not to press further.
He took a deep breath and replied, “Ethan, I’m sincerely asking for your help. Many businesses are leaving Celestial City, and Stephen was attacked by assassins. Everyone thinks that the city isn’t safe anymore. Can you come up with a solution?”
Still, Ethan remained unfazed. “You’ve locked me up here, and now you want my help? Are you stupid, or do you think I’m stupid?”
George was left speechless.
“It’s… It’s complicated. I can’t explain it all right now. Just lend a hand, and I promise I’ll explain everything later.
Ethan smiled, saying, “Is it really complicated? Isn’t it just Simon wanting to use Riveria to get his son into the cabinet? And because you guys looked down on me for not having a background and wanted to build connections with the Quinns, you teamed up against me. What’s so complicated about that?”
George fell silent again. Ethan had seen right through his true intentions.
“Actually, I was forced into it. How about this?” George suggested, “You like Rachel, don’t you? I’ll have her come by to keep you company or even bring you meals. That way, we’ll still be like family. You wouldn’t just stand by and watch your family suffer, would you?”
Without even glancing at him, Ethan replied, “Don’t think too highly of yourself and don’t flatter Rachel either. I’ve told you. I have no interest in her, nor do I care about Riveria. Using her to convince me won’t work at all. She’s not even my type.”
George’s eyes widened in disbelief.
