Stephen immediately recognized the golden opportunity. Without wasting a second, he contacted the media to set up a live broadcast to explore the place where the Grand Marshal once lived on the foot of Sky Peak.
Soon, they found a cave at the foot of Sky Peak. At the entrance stood a wooden door covered in dust, indicating it had been abandoned for a long time.
Stephen pushed the door open, and a musty smell wafted out. He waved his hand around and waited a while before leading everyone inside, where there was electricity, lights, and a fan in the cave, which were all still functional.
When the lights turned on, everyone saw the simple structure in the cave. A large table sat in the middle, clearly used for meetings, and a map of Riveria’s surroundings was hung on the wall.
What drew everyone’s attention the most was the display beneath the map. A few framed photos sat on a wooden counter, and there, in the center, was a portrait of the late Grand Marshal himself. Seeing the Grand Marshal’s aged face, their eyes welled up.
Stephen then led the group toward the photo frames, trying to take a closer look at the other photos together.
Meanwhile, the interview with Samuel continued.
The reporter said, “Mr. Kenning, do you know someone is impersonating the Grand Marshal’s mentee to destroy Riveria?”
Samuel was enraged. “Who would dare?”
“It’s a young man named Ethan Rivers. According to your rules, how would you punish someone like this?”
“Huh?”
When Samuel heard the name, his rage disappeared instantly, replaced by shock. He thought he had misheard.
“Who did you say?”
The reporter repeated, “Ethan Rivers.”
Back in the cave, Stephen and the reports stood in front of the photo frames. The lighting was dim, so Stephen took out his phone and turned on the flashlight, directing it at the frames.
When the photo became clearer, Stephen found himself dumbfounded.
“Splat!”

His phone dropped to the ground, and the photo dimmed once more. Although it was only a brief moment, Stephen got a clear look at the photos!
In the first photo, Ethan was sitting with the Grand Marshal. In the second photo, Ethan, the Grand Marshal, and Samuel were having a meal with the other generals. In the third and last photo, the South Regent knelt on the ground while Ethan held a gun to his head!
It was clear that Ethan did not pull the trigger, but Stephen felt as if he was shot in the head. Why was Ethan in the photos?
Although he did not want to admit it, there could only be one possibility–Ethan was truly the Grand Marshal’s mentee.
“I and the mentee you speak of are the same person.‘
“The letter you want is in your hands.”
Ethan’s voice echoed in his ears, each word hitting him hard, leaving him dizzy in pain.
Why was it Ethan? How could it be him?
Everything Ethan said was true, and now, Stephen had publicly slandered him, accusing him of being a fake. What would happen if the people knew the truth?
Stephen was too afraid to think about it. He snapped back to reality, his body jolting in a moment of panic. The first thing he did was cut the livestream from his side. Then, he took out his phone and called Simon.
They could not let Samuel expose the truth. Once he did, they would all be finished, especially after Samuel had just talked about Ethan’s heroic achievements–single- handedly taking on a pack of enemies both inside and out!
If the internet knew about them imprisoning Ethan and even slandering him, there would be no saving it.
The reporter asked Samuel, “Mr. Kenning, you seem surprised. Did something happen?” Samuel frowned. “Ethan is the Grand Marshal’s ”
Before he could finish, Simon suddenly yelled, cutting Samuel off. “Wait!”
He hurried over and said, “There’s been an unexpected situation. Cut the livestream immediately!”
The reporter was confused but did as Simon told and stopped the broadcast. Only then did Simon heave a sigh of relief.
He wiped off the sweat on his forehead and said to the reporter, “Go out first.”
Since Simon had said so, the crew had no choice but to leave.
