Chapter 121
Chapter 221
Stephen pulled out his phone to call the mayor James.
The call got through immediately.
“Do you know what happened?”
James knew exactly what had happened because he had ordered his assistant, Tommy, to abduct Richard.
As a matter of fact, Tommy simply carried out his task without understanding its essence. It was the mayor who had told him to meet the factory owner. Then, the South Regent’s men shoved Richard into the trunk without Tommy’s knowledge.
The mayor had simply told the assistant to drive out of the city.
With that, Richard was whisked out of the city without any hassle.
James feigned ignorance and asked, “What?”
“Your assistant, Tommy… He kidnapped Richard!”
“What?! How? Why would he do something like that? We must go after him right away!” James said in a shocked tone.
When Tommy came back in another car, he had driven straight into the surveillance zone and roadblocks, hence his immediate apprehension.
He was still confused when the police took him. Despite the harsh interrogation, he still did not know what he had done wrong. He simply said that the mayor was the one who had assigned him the task.
James denied it and claimed that it was a false accusation.
Since both of them worked closely and always had phone calls, their communication log was unable to be used as evidence.
Stephen and George were having a difficult time solving the matter.
Just as they were at a loss for action, Stephen’s phone rang. It was from an unregistered
number.
He quickly answered it, worrying it might be the kidnappers.
“Mr. Quinn, how are you?” A familiar voice came from the phone.
Stephen was shaken. It was from the man who played a game with him in the car, the man who escaped right before his eyes!
“What do you guys want?!”

The man chuckled. “We are kidnappers. Of course, we want money–a hundred billion.”
Stephen cried in disbelief, “A hundred billion!?
The deal with Richard was worth a hundred billion. If he surrendered the ransom, then he would lose a hundred billion before the deal even got through.
George snatched the phone and shouted, “What? A hundred billion?! That’s ridiculous! How can you even accept that much money?!”
The man replied, “I understand, but His Highness has a lot of men, and that’s just enough for all of them to fill their stomachs.”
“His Highness?” George had a bad feeling listening to the name.
Who would have the nerve to use such a title?
“The South Regent.”
The name shocked George. His mind went blank as if a bolt of lightning had struck his -head.
The South Regent?! The King Beyond the Border?!
He came to Celestial City to kidnap someone?!
George gasped and tried to calm himself down but simply could not. His heart was pounding and his face turned pale.
The South Regent was a name that he feared.
Three years ago, not even the Grand Marshal’s army could take him out.
If not for the Grand Marshal’s mysterious student forcing him back beyond the border, Riveria would not have seen peace.
“Are you trying to scare me with the South Regent?! Use that name lightly, and you will suffer severe consequences!” George hoped that it was a bluff.
“Of course, there are no consequences.”
Suddenly, another voice boomed, sending chills down George’s spine and giving him goosebumps. His legs turned weak and almost fell to the ground.
“That’s because I ordered him to do so.”
George knew it was the South Regent speaking He felt pressured the moment he heard the voice, much more intense than when he had faced Simon.
“Why? Haven’t you left Riveria for good and promised to never come back?” George asked nervously, his throat feeling dry.
