“What? What happened? Why are they leaving all of a sudden? Celestial City is the financial hub of Riveria. They can’t leave!”
George and Stephen panicked.
George said, “Go talk to Richard right away and make the deal happen! I’ll contact the companies and tell them to stay!”
“Got it!” Stephen moved out right away.
Without further ado, George contacted the companies, starting with Kenny’s, and gathered them for a meeting.
George looked at the CEOS of the various companies. “Is there any problem that you are facing? Why are all of you leaving the city all of a sudden?”
Someone said, “That’s because Celestial City is over. Or more precisely, Riveria is over.”
George frowned. “Where did you hear that? That’s groundless rumors! Celestial City is fine! Riveria will prosper!”

Someone chuckled. “Is that so? Then why is Riveria’s GDP down to 11.4 trillion dollars?”
George was silenced by the question.
“Don’t even try to keep us. It won’t work unless Ethan Rivers comes back.”
“Without Ethan Rivers, Riveria will collapse.”
George bellowed, “Nonsense! I am in charge of Riveria now. How can it go down just like that? Besides, Ethan is not a god!”
Even he had to admit that Ethan was capable–more so than Stephen–but he was confident that together with Stephen, he could do better than his predecessor.
Two minds were better than one.
Together with Stephen, it would not be difficult to surpass Ethan.
George finally knew why the companies wanted to leave. They were worried about Celestial City’s future, afraid that the city would follow in the footsteps of North Hill City, Seaside City, and Aqua City.

They walked towards the door.
“Wait!” George remained confused. Why would they leave knowing that Celestial City would only get better from here on?
“Is it because of our policies? Are you guys not getting enough subsidies or funding? Guys, I promise you that whatever Ethan Rivers gave you, we will provide you better! Simon Quinn has high hopes for Celestial City’s future” George explained hurriedly.
Everyone shook their heads. They were disappointed.
Up until this point, George still had not figured out what the core issue was.
Someone said, “We stayed in Celestial City, not because of the benefits. We aren’t even here to make money. Even if you pay us, we won’t stay for another day. We stayed because of Mr. Rivers!
“Now that he is no longer here, there is no reason for us to stay anymore! Unless you can bring him back… Even Simon Quinn being here himself won’t change our minds, let alone his words about the city.”
Then, the CEOS walked out of the room en masse.
George was left petrified. He could not believe that the companies stayed because of Ethan.
