Stephen pondered for a moment. The situation was different now. It was no longer the Lowes relying on him and the Quinns to join the cabinet but him relying on the Lowes. That was why he had to apologize!

Rachel crossed her arms and leaned back on the couch, her tone icy. “What else?”
What else? Stephen could not think of any other mistakes he had made.
Rachel narrowed her eyes. She was disappointed. Stephen claimed he was there to apologize, but he did not even know what he had done wrong.

“Unlike you, Ethan never made me feel like this. He was always good to me and had never made me upset.”
Stephen clenched his fists. It was fine that she refused to forgive him and tell him what he had done wrong, but how could she compare him to Ethan?
He may not be as capable as Ethan in running Riveria, but now even in matters of the heart, he fell short?
“Don’t think you can be mad about this.”
Rachel could tell that Stephen was a little angry, but she was angrier.
“We’ve known each other for so long, but have you ever given me anything? Have you ever cared for me? Ethan would never make me sad, so how could you compare to him?”
