Chapter 203
After hanging up the phone, George sank onto the couch and sighed.
Although he knew Stephen was not up to the task, he was also aware of his own limitations. Putting him in charge of Riveria with Stephen assisting him was like appointing two clowns to run Riveria.
George was ready to be honest with everyone, but after reconsidering, he knew he could not tell the truth. If people found out that Riveria was previously run by Ethan, the public outcry would be unimaginable, and once their schemes were exposed, would they even survive it?
“Since I can’t reveal the truth, all I can do is push through.”
After thinking about it day and night, George finally had an idea.
“Although I’ve never actually run Riveria before, I’ve seen how Ethan did it!”
Even if he did not know how to handle things, he could try mimicking what Ethan did.
“Back when Seaside City was also in a mess and various entities were fighting non–stop, how did Ethan solve this issue?
“He picked one of the entities and backed them up, using them to control the other entities!”
Thus, George’s plan was to replicate Ethan’s strategy. He would also find someone to back, offer them enough benefits, and have them keep the other entities in check.
With that plan in mind, George immediately went to Aqua City. He requested the profiles of all the town mayors, but after looking through them, he still could not find someone
suitable.
Reluctantly, George called Stephen over and told Stephen his plan.
Then, he asked, “Stephen, who do you think we should back?”
Stephen was a little taken aback by the plan. He had never thought of such a strategy of using an enemy to hold the others in check. That way, they could minimize the losses across the board.
“If you’re asking me who’s the best fit…” Stephen thought for a moment before saying, “I think Oliver is the most suitable.”
Oliver had made it clear that he was not going anywhere. Moreover, he had his own business and did not hate Aqua City. All they had to do was support him and offer him plenty of benefits, and he would stick around. Based on the current situation, supporting Oliver would be the best choice!

After comparing Oliver’s information to the others, George also found Oliver to be the best choice.
“We’ll go with him then.”
George brought Stephen along and went to look for Oliver, who was still in Aqua City, waiting for things to calm down before rebuilding his factory.
“George, you’re here already?” Oliver chuckled and said, “I didn’t expect you to be so invested in Riveria.”
George forced a smile. He could tell that Oliver was mocking him. In the past, Ethan was always the one running Riveria previously while he enjoyed a carefree life, doing nothing at
all.
“So, what are you here for?” Oliver asked as he sat on the couch, propping his feet on the
table.
Stephen frowned at the casual disrespect. It seemed as if Oliver was not taking them seriously at all. Although George noticed Oliver’s actions, he did not mind it. He needed something from Oliver, so he could only keep his head down.
“We have something to discuss with you.” George explained, “We plan on backing you and making your company the leading business in Aqua City.”
Oliver and Ethan had long been at odds. Although Oliver had never won against Ethan, he had picked up lots of experience on the way.
Now, hearing George’s proposal, Oliver knew what George was planning.
He narrowed his eyes and said, “So you want me to help you deal with the troublemakers.”
George nodded. “Yes.”
“Who taught you such a move?”
Oliver glanced back and forth between George and Stephen. Was it Stephen? That was impossible. If Stephen could have thought of such a plan, Aqua City would not be in the mess it was today.
“I came up with it,” George replied.
“Did you really come up with this idea?”
George lowered his head slightly. Of course not. He was only copying Ethan.
“I see.” Seeing George’s reaction, Oliver laughed and said, “It looks like you did learn a thing or two from your time around Ethan.
“I’ll agree to your offer.”
