saknelt before Ethan, thanking him “Thankyou for helping me with finding the killer”
Ethat said, “You should know I’m not helping gou.”
He just wanted to use Nina to remove her employer
If a could kill her employer and then take her own life, Ethan would have two fewer enemies to worry about. It could also set an example for the others. It was a win–win, and Ethan would not even have to lift a finger
Despite knowing Ethan wanted her dead, Nina thanked him
“Mr. Rivers, I know I won’t walk away alive, but I have a request. I have a junior. She’s not all that bad. If she doesn’t leave Rivera, I don’task for you to help her, but please don’t kill ber.”
She then banded Erban a bank card.
“This is all the money I have. A total of five million. Please show some mercy and don’t kill herTM
Ethan took the card, and Nina then left around the evening.
Three days later, Ethan received the news of her death. Nina had killed her employer and his family before taking her own life. The scene of the death was gruesome.
You gave her a choice? What choice? How did she die?” Snow asked.
“I helped her with finding her parents‘ killer, and she made the choice to perish together with the killer. Before she left, she even thanked me.”
Snow faltered backward, shocked and in disbelief that Nina had taken her own life. More importantly, Ethan did not kill her but helped her find the killer of her parents instead.
“H–How did it…”
She looked completely shattered, her eyes void of any light, as if her soul had left her.
That scared the hell out of Stephen, and he quickly helped her up, asking, “Snow, what’s wrong? You’re scaring me!”
Nevertheless, Ethan continued, “Since you haven’t left Riveria, I guess fate has brought us together again, so let me give you a piece of information: the people you’re looking for are already dead.”
Snow’s eyes widened in shock. She had been looking for her parents the entire time, but they were dead?
“Dead? How? Who killed them?”
Ethan explained, “No one. They starved to death after they sent you away.
Decades ago, Riveria was a mess as war reigned and lives perished. His mentor, a war general, devoted his life to fighting for peace but never succeeded in ending the turmoil.
It was not until three years ago that Ethan stepped in to stop the conflicts, bringing true peace to Riveria.
“You’re lying! That’s impossible!”
THE
Snow’s ears were ringing, her mind a mess. She could not accept the outcome.
“If it’s easier for you to believe that I’m lying, then go ahead and think that. But in some ways, you could say I’m your savior since I’ve avenged your parents.”
Her parents had died of starvation, and Ethan stopped the war, ensuring that every family now had food on the table and no one in Riveria would ever starve again.
Ethan, however, did not explain anything; he did not need to. He had always treated people with sincerity, but most of the time, people just could not take the truth.
Snow’s legs grew weak, and she fell on her butt. The parents whom she had been looking for had died due to famine, and everything that she had done up until that point became meaningless.
Stephen was outraged seeing Snow’s devastation. He knew it was Ethan who caused it.
He glared at Ethan and bellowed, “What the hell are you talking about?”
Ethan looked at him. “Do you really want to know?”
Snow had committed a lot of crimes to get to her current position, such as fraud, corporate espionage, and even physical harm. Awaiting her was a lifetime behind bars.
Since Stephen was the person in charge of governing Riveria now, if he knew what Ethan was talking about, he would have to send Snow to prison himself.
