Chapter 120
All Stephen could do was have his bodyguards chase away the reporters as he quickly boarded his flight.
It was dark when he returned to Riveria, and as soon as he stepped out of the airport, he saw Rachel waiting for him outside. Instead of saying anything, he quickly got into the car.
When he walked over, he could feel many people watching him. Even from several dozen meters away, he thought he could hear them pointing at him.
Stephen did not dare to linger.
“Let’s go home.”
With that, Rachel drove him back to the villa.
Once home, Stephen finally let out a long breath.
Rachel handed him a glass of water and asked, “Are you okay, darling?”
“I’m fine.”
Although that was what Stephen said, he felt bitter inside.
George, who was also there, asked, “What’s your plan now?”
He, too, felt helpless about the situation in Seaside City. To fix those issues would require a lot of effort.
At that moment, he could not help but miss Ethan again. Nothing like that ever happened when Ethan was around.
George felt like he had lost more brain cells in the last month than in the previous three years combined.
“Forget it. Why am I thinking about him?” He shook his head, clearing the thoughts of Ethan.
Helping Stephen now was more important. As long as Stephen stabilized his position and joined the cabinet, George could rise along with him.
Ethan? Who cared about him? He would not be of help anyway.
Stephen glanced at George and said, “My plan is to ask Ethan for help.”
Rachel froze, and George was stunned, but they both looked shocked.
He, Stephen Quinn, was the son of the Quinns in Metropolis, with a noble status and power, while Ethan was an orphan they saw as worthless. Yet, Stephen wanted to ask Ethan for help now.

George recalled his earlier thoughts.
Could Ethan help? He could! If even Stephen wanted to ask Ethan for help, there could be something there!
Feeling a sting of embarrassment, George awkwardly took a seat on the side.
Rachel, too, was equally shocked. Why did Stephen want Ethan’s help? Was Ethan really that capable? Was she wrong about him all along?
She could not accept that truth!
“What exactly is going on?” Rachel asked anxiously.
“Don’t ask,” Stephen snapped in frustration.
The fact that he needed to ask Ethan for help was humiliating enough, and on top of that, he had to release Ethan. He once said that Ethan would be locked up for life, so releasing Ethan now was just a slap to his own face!
Rachel and George exchanged a look, both filled with a mix of emotions.
They were just concerned about Stephen, but he snapped at them. Ethan, on the other hand, had never raised his voice at them, and they never had to worry when he was the one handling affairs.
Comparing the two, they could not help but feel slightly disappointed in Stephen.
Unaware of their thoughts, Stephen just wanted to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Hence, he went up to Drakthorn Ridge that night.
The villa was brightly lit, and as he approached the front gate, he noticed it wide open as if someone was expecting him.
He called over the guards watching Ethan and asked, “Does he always leave the gates open at night?”
“No,” the guard replied. “Only tonight.”
Stephen frowned. Did Ethan know he was coming?
For some reason, he felt strangely nervous. After taking a deep breath, he mustered the courage to walk inside.
As soon as he entered the living room, he saw Ethan sitting on the couch reading a book. This time, however, it was a different book from the one he had seen before.
“Ahem.”
Stephen stepped forward and cleared his throat to announce his presence.
