“Is there something else?”
Stephen thought there was something Simon had forgotten to tell him. However, when he looked at his phone, his eyes widened in shock
That number belonged to Howard, and he could not believe the man had the nerve to call him!
Immediately answering the call, Stephen gritted his teeth and said “Howard Green, damn you!”
“Haha!” Howard laughed.
“I’ve never killed before, yet you label me a murderer. Tell me. How many people have lived happy lives in the three years I protected Seaside City? You didn’t even look into it before throwing me in prison.
“I admit that I’ve done many wrong deeds in the past that deserve punishment, but…. Stephen Quinn, you arrested me at will and made up false charges of me, and now look at what you’ve done to Seaside City. How many families have been destroyed because of you? Don’t you
deserve to be punished too?”
Stephen stood frozen and speechless.
What Howard did in the past was indeed wrong, but compared to Stephen, what Stephen did was far worse!

After waiting for a while but not getting a response from Stephen, Howard shook his head in disappointment.
“You’ve let me down. With someone like you running Riveria, I can already predict its future. Riveria is done for.”
Those words snapped Stephen out of his thoughts, refusing to believe that Ethan was great. “Nonsense! Riveria will be fine as long as I’m around.”
Would Riveria be over without Ethan? Absolutely not! Stephen was just as capable as Ethan!
Stephen said, “Don’t try to shake my resolve, Howard. I’m confident I’ll raise Riveria’s GDP to 20 trillion, I’ll go down in history while you’ll be stuck hiding for the rest of your life.”
Howard laughed. “If Riveria is left in your hands, I’d rather die in a foreign land.”
“Not a chance!” Stephen said coldly, “We’ll come for you.”
“In that case, Dennis and I will be waiting for you.
Stephen frowned. “Dennis is with you?”
“Of course,” Howard said casually. “We’re having tea together as we speak.”
“You!”
Stephen looked like he was about to explode. He had not eaten or slept well for days, yet the two were out there enjoying themselves.
“Don’t miss us too much,” Howard continued. “We’ll be sending you a little gift soon. Just don’t get too excited when you receive it.”
Howard could not forgive Stephen for framing him and locking Ethan up. He may not be able to make his move back in Seaside City, but now that he was out with money and power on his side, there was no reason to hold back against Stephen anymore.
As Howard and Dennis were old rivals, Dennis soon tracked Howard down after leaving the country. When he learned that Howard planned to make a move against Stephen, he rushed over to join the fray.
Dennis grabbed the phone and said to Stephen, “Don’t worry. I’m truly thankful for you. After all, Ethan is my enemy. He’s killed my son and many of my men, and I’ve wanted nothing more than to see him tortured.
“I truly appreciate you arresting him and even locking him up in the mountains. When the time comes, I promise to give you a surprise!”
Stephen suddenly felt uneasy.

Something was not right. Why were those two planning to send him gifts?
“I think the best gift would be you two turning yourselves in!‘
Dennis laughed. “What matters isn’t what you think, but what I think. Well, enough chit- chat. We still have gifts to prepare for you.”
With that, he hung up the phone and turned to Howard, saying, “Do you know they found at scapegoat for Stephen?”
Howard nodded.
They had found a person to take the blame for all of Stephen’s mistakes and shoulder the scoldings and crimes, but Howard did not think it was something Stephen could come up with himself. There must be someone directing him behind the scenes.
