Victor turned to Dylan, who was still standing by the door. “Buddy, you used to be unfortunate; now, you’re undoubtedly lucky.”
Then, he threw a jab at Claude. “Mr. Harlow, just because you’ve got trouble walking doesn’t mean you need to go picking up someone else’s discarded shoes.”

Before Suzy could fire back, Claude set his utensils down hard on the table. “Mr. Steele, I’d suggest you watch your words.”
Victor let out a mocking laugh. “Just a friendly warning. If you don’t appreciate it, forget I said anything. Let’s go, Dylan!”
But Dylan stepped forward instead. “Since we’re all here, let’s sit together.”
Victor froze and thought, “What the hell?”
Seeing Dylan take a seat, Victor could only grit his teeth and follow along. He’d finally managed to get Dylan to agree to meet up, only to run into this unpleasant mess. And why was Dylan joining their table? Even if there were no feelings left, they’d shared a bed once; watching her flirt with another man should make him feel something, right?
To Victor’s dismay, Dylan even sat down right beside Suzy.

Suzy was just as baffled, wondering what was going through Dylan’s mind. After that tense exchange with Victor, he still wanted to sit down and eat?
Her eyes narrowed slightly, and the moment Dylan took his seat, she rose. “Bad timing, Mr. Dylan; we’ve just finished. Since you’re so fond of this private room, consider these leftovers on the table as my treat. Enjoy.”

Even more surprising, Dylan didn’t lose his temper. Victor wondered if he’d left it at home.
As if he didn’t notice the hint of irritation on Victor’s face, Dylan looked at Claude and said, “There’s still plenty of food on the table. You must not have eaten enough; why not stay and have a bit more?”
Claude’s smile remained calm and courteous. “I have a small appetite, I’m afraid. Mr. Dylan, I’ll have to decline your generosity. Enjoy your meal–I’ll be on my way.

Hearing the obvious provocation, Suzy cut in before Claude could respond. “Oh, are you so keen to eat, Mr. Dylan? Fine, as your ex–wife, I’ll keep you company.”
She then called the driver and asked him to escort Claude out first.
Claude looked uneasy, but Suzy gave him a reassuring smile and whispered, “Relax, he’s
no match for me.‘
Claude’s concems weren’t exactly about that, but he said nothing more, allowing the driver to push him out of the private room.
Instead of returning to her original seat, Suzy took the chair directly across from Dylan. ” Mr. Steele, you seem to be having a bit of a vision issue,” she said, flashing him a sly smile.
Victor blinked, taking a moment before realizing she was mocking his lack of awareness.

Soon, the large room was left with just Suzy and Dylan.
Suzy crossed her arms and leaned back in her wooden chair. “Well, Mr. Dylan, what are you waiting for? If you don’t dig in soon, these leftovers will get cold–and they’re hardly appetizing as it is. Or are you expecting me to serve you?”
She tilted her head and smirked. “Sorry, I only serve my Mr. Claude now, and you, Dylan Wright, no longer qualify.”
Dylan’s gaze darkened as he studied her.
“Confessing everything upfront and cutting off all risks…” His eyes narrowed. “Your tactics are getting sharper, Suzy.”
“Tactics?” Suzy laughed. “My loyalty to Mr. Claude is genuine, but I’ll take your compliment, Mr. Dylan.”
“Genuine?” Dylan chuckled. “And if Claude had nothing, just how much of that loyalty would remain?”
“Even if he were penniless, I wouldn’t care!” Suzy’s eyes locked onto Dylan’s with defiance. “But some people, no matter how many billions they’re worth, don’t interest me in the slightest.”
