At this particular moment, the dressing room was completely empty. After searching, around, Suzy finally found a gown that fit–a floor–length red dress. She didn’t waste time. overthinking it, quickly changing into the gown and grabbing a mask.
She could have used makeup to disguise herself well enough that Dylan wouldn’t recognize her, which was nearly as effective as a full mask, but there just wasn’t enough time.
Once everything was in place, Suzy returned to the main hall.
With an entrance as bold as Dylan’s, she stepped forward and announced, “Twenty–five billion dollars!”
Her bid sent the room into a frenzy.
“Who’s that?”
but look at
that figure! Incredible curves–and in that red dress, she looks like a
straight out of a dream.”
Dylan’s gaze fixed on the masked figure, his eyes darkening. The woman’s figure and presence reminded him of the one he’d encountered that night at the hospital. Her voice was different, but voices were the easiest thing to disguise.
With a quick glance toward Desmond, who picked up the cue, he called out, “May I ask which company this lady represents?”
Suzy walked steadily toward them, stopping right in front of Dylan, and replied, word by word, “I represent myself.”
Sensing her defiance, Dylan’s eyes narrowed slightly. “Forty billion dollars.”
Suzy raised her bid. “Forty–five billion dollars.
Dylan countered, “Sixty billion dollars.”
No matter how high Dylan went, Suzy always added another five billion.
Money was something Dylan had in abundance, but she wasn’t lacking, either. She refused. to believe he’d risk the entire Wright Corporation to win this bid against her.
As the numbers climbed, the crowd buzzed with excitement.
“Who is this woman? She’s actually challenging Mr. Wright! Could she be even wealthier than him?”
“I’d love to take off that mask and see who this bold woman is, someone who doesn’t even flinch before Mr. Wright,” someone murmured from the crowd.
As the bid approached one trillion, Desmond leaned in and whispered to Dylan, “Sir, I’m

concerned she’s driving up the price on purpose.”
Dylan, of course, had already considered this possibility. If she was indeed pushing the price up deliberately, he’d be the one taking the hit. While winning would grant him controlling interest in the new project, the strain on Wright Corporation’s entire financial chain could be considerable.
Seeing Desmond whispering into Dylan’s ear, Suzy knew her plan was about to pay off. She decided to nudge him further. “Well, Mr. Wright, will you raise the bid?”
Dylan’s lips curved slightly. “If the lady is so invested in this project, I’ll graciously bow
out.”
“Ah…” Suzy chuckled softly. “Then I must thank Mr. Wright for his generosity.”
Just as she’d thought–he wouldn’t risk the entire Wright Corporation just to outbid her! In the end, Suzy secured the Harlow Group’s new project with a bid of ninety billion dollars, gaining absolute control.
Before announcing the final result, the host asked her, “Miss, may we have your name?”
Suzy paused a moment. “Honey.”
Her parents and three brothers used to call her that affectionately.
Although she’d achieved her goal, Suzy couldn’t shake the feeling of having swallowed a bitter pill. Originally, she could have helped Claude and drawn closer to the Goodwins without spending a dime. Now, she’d dropped a hefty ninety billion dollars.
The money
wasn’t the issue; it was the fact that her entire plan had been thrown off course! The more she thought about it, the angrier she became, with a rising urge to tear Dylan to pieces to satisfy her grudge.
Consumed with irritation, she didn’t notice someone following her. As she pushed open the dressing room door and stepped inside, a large hand suddenly reached out from behind her.
