Chapter 0076
Suzy smirked, a glint of mischief in her eyes. “If you’re that worried about the money, then take the job. It’s not like you don’t know how.”
Allen chuckled. “And you’re not afraid I’ll ruin your reputation?”
She shrugged. “I don’t care. I’ve got plenty more where that came from.”
“Alright, then!” A flash of something dark lit up Allen’s gaze. “I’ll make sure to have some fun with that little brat.”
Suzy raised an eyebrow. “Just don’t go overboard.”
Allen gave her an OK sign. “The arrangements for tomorrow’s bidding conference are all set, just as you asked. Even the Goodwins took the bait.”
Suzy’s eyes narrowed. “We’ve cast the net for a long time. Let’s see if we can catch a big fish this time.”
At the Wright Corporation’s new project bidding conference, Suzy attended alongside Claude as his personal caregiver.
Ashbourne City’s elite were out in full force, though few were truly there to bid. With the project being a new venture, most were hesitant to take the risk.
The Goodwins had been hesitant too, partly because of the risk and partly due to their political ties, which didn’t align with the project’s scope. But with the right bait, they’d finally been drawn in.
Naturally, the Goodwin family wouldn’t show up in person. Instead, they sent Lyndon Corporation’s president, Brandon Cooper, as their representative. On the surface, Lyndon Corporation appeared to be a foreign enterprise, but in reality, it was controlled by the
Goodwins.
Everything was unfolding precisely as Suzy had planned.
Her mood was good. Of course, it would’ve been even better if she hadn’t run into Anne and Helena in the restroom.
Bue
Not a coincidence–more like they’d followed her on purpose.
“So, did you two follow me in here because you haven’t eaten?” Suzy folded her arms, eyeing the mother and daughter with a smug grin. “Alright, I’ll serve you something hot.”
Their faces darkened even further, especially Helena, who pointed an angry finger at Suzy. “You watch that mouth of yours, Suzy-

Smack!
Suzy slapped Helena hard across the face. “If you’ve got something to say, say it–no need to point fingers. That just makes it look like you’re trying to provoke me.”
She smirked, eyes gleaming. “And I’m the last person you want to provoke.”
Helena, initially ready to confront Suzy, was stunned into silence by the slap. Even Anne hadn’t anticipated such a brazen response. “Suzy, do you even know who you’re slapping?
“What’s wrong? You don’t recognize your own mother?” Suzy’s gaze sharpened. “If your mind’s this foggy, maybe I can help clear it up.
She grabbed Anne by the hair, dunked her head in the sink, and turned on the faucet, letting cold water rush over her. “Feeling clearer now?”

Helena started forward, but the memory of Suzy’s slap made her hesitate. “Suzy, let my daughter, or I’ll call for help. We’re honored guests of the Harlow family, while you’re just a lowly caregiver-”
Suzy released Anne, tossing her to the floor at Helena’s feet. Then, she calmly pulled out a paper towel and dried her hands. “Anne, instead of wasting your time harassing me, maybe focus on convincing Dylan to marry you.”
If it weren’t for her usefulness, Suzy wouldn’t have allowed Anne to keep prancing around her like this.
The bidding event was nearing its end, and it was time to check the results. As Suzy walked away, Anne finally dared to cry out, “I swear, Suzy, I’ll tear you to pieces one day!”
Helena’s face was twisted with fury. “I underestimated her. Well, if she wants to play dirty, I’ll show her no mercy.
Back in the main hall, Suzy arrived just as the host announced Lyndon Corporation’s successful bid. She pulled out her phone, ready to message Allen to proceed with the plan when suddenly an unexpected disruption emerged.
