Chapter 0689
Vivian thought for a moment and realized it truly wasn’t worth it.
She then confessed to Allen, “Someone did ask me to do it.”
Allen quickly asked, “Who?”
“I don’t know. That person approached me out of the blue and told me to find someone to take something out of the grave next to my father’s.
“Honestly, I was curious about what they wanted. Messing with someone’s grave is a really despicable thing to do, but they told me not to ask questions…”
Vivian looked regretful. “If my son didn’t need money for his wedding, I would never have done something like that. I’ve told you everything.
“Please don’t report me. My husband’s health is poor, and my son is getting married in a month. If something happens to me, my whole family will be ruined!”
Vivian was genuinely terrified.
Over the past few days, she had been living in fear, worrying that something might happen.
Yet, she kept trying to reassure herself that it wouldn’t. After all, the person said the grave owner didn’t have any family left.
But what she feared most came true–her actions had been exposed!
Allen looked at Vivian and said coldly, “Your son is getting married, and you needed money, so you decided to tamper with someone’s grave?
“That’s not an excuse for committing a crime! Prepare to be summoned by the court.”
“No!” Vivian suddenly dropped to her knees in front of Allen.
“I’m begging you, please, don’t report me. I swear I’ll never do anything like this again. Please, just let me off this once!”
“If you want me to let you off, it’s not impossible…” Allen’s dark eyes narrowed.
“But only if you can find the person who put you up to this and give us an explanation!”
“This…” Vivian looked troubled.
“I really don’t know who that person is. When we met, that person was wearing a mask and sunglasses. I have no idea what they look like, so I’m afraid I can’t help you with that.”
“Then you’ll have to face the consequences alone!” Allen finished speaking and turned to leave.
Vivian hurriedly called out to him, “Wait! That person transferred money to me. Maybe you can find something through the account?”
Following the lead from the account provided by Vivian, Allen continued the investigation.
However, the trail eventually led to a dead end. It turned out to be a deactivated account.
It was an expected outcome, so there was nothing surprising about it.

However…
Allen shared the findings with Suzy. “Boss, the trail’s gone cold again. What should we do next?”
Before Suzy could respond, her father’s voice echoed angrily from downstairs.
The furious tone left Allen puzzled. “Wh
did you do to upset him?”

Suzy looked exasperated. “Me? Do you think I’d dare upset him?”
She sighed. “I barely have time to keep him happy, let alone annoy him!”
Allen pressed further, “Then why is he so angry?”
Suzy rolled her eyes in irritation. “How would I know?”
The shouting grew louder from below. Suzy turned to Allen
“Go ask that woman where she met the person. If it was somewhere public, the surrounding surveillance cameras might have caught something.
“These days, cameras are everywhere. It’s not that hard to track someone down.”
“Got it. I’ll go right away!” Allen replied, heading off immediately.
After giving the instructions, Suzy went downstairs. Allen followed closely behind her.
“Father, were you calling for me?” Suzy approached her father respectfully as soon as she reached him.
Timothy glared at her with evident displeasure. “If I didn’t call for you, would you just pretend I don’t exist?”
Suzy felt wronged. “How could I? I’ve just been busy these past few days, so I might have neglected you a little. Once things settle down, how about I take you on a trip?”
