Chapter 0683
When the screen displayed nothing but gibberish, both of their faces darkened instantly.
Allen, in particular, looked like he was falling apart.
“How is this even possible? It clearly said the recovery was successful–why is it all scrambled?”
Dylan, though slightly more composed, had also anticipated such an outcome, though his expression remained grim. “It seems like our every move is being closely monitored.”
“It’s not just ‘seems,‘ it’s definite!” Allen snapped, furrowing his brows tightly.
“Honestly, I’ve suspected for a while now that someone has been watching us this whole time. I even wondered if it might be Claude. Everything about this person’s style–its almost identical to his.”
Allen paused, visibly frustrated, before continuing, “But Claude is dead. Suzy and I personally took him to the crematorium, and we both oversaw his burial from start to finish. There’s no way he could have faked his death like last time!”
He hesitated, then added, “But if that’s impossible, why does this person’s methods mirror his so exactly? Unless … it’s his ghost doing all this?”
“Whether it’s a person or a ghost, we need to find out,” Dylan said, narrowing his eyes.
“Let’s get to work. We owe Suzy a solid answer when she wakes up.”
Allen nodded firmly. “Right. There’s no way the two of us can’t handle this coward hiding in the shadows.”
And with that, the two dove into another intense round of work.
After several days of high–intensity work, Suzy had fallen asleep the moment she lay down, sleeping deeply for hours.
When she opened her eyes, the sky outside was already dark. She checked her phone and saw it was 8 p.m.
Seven hours had passed–surely they’d wrapped things up by now?
Stretching lazily, she got up, washed up, and headed to the study.
Pushing open the door, she asked, “Are you two done yet?”
Allen turned toward her, his expression serious.
“Boss, we’re not finished yet. Go back and rest a bit longer. We’ll call you as soon as we’re done.”
Knowing how long she had struggled with the problem, Suzy didn’t press the matter.
It seemed reasonable that they hadn’t cracked it in just a few hours. Instead, she walked over and said, “If you’re tired, take a break. I’ll handle the rest.”
“Boss…” Allen hesitated as if he wanted to say something but couldn’t bring himself to.
Suzy frowned slightly. “Out with it. What is it?”
Allen pressed his lips together. “We’ve tried recovering this file multiple times, and every time it looks like we’re about to succeed, something goes wrong. It always stalls at the very last step. I think the other side is deliberately messing with us.”

Suzy had encountered similar situations before. Her eyes sharpened. “If they want to play games, then let’s play. I’d like to see how long they can keep up with us.”
As she spoke, she glanced at Dylan. “You’ve been at this all day. Go back and rest.”
“I’m not tired,” Dylan replied curtly, his hands still moving steadily across the keyboard.
Seeing his unwillingness to say more, Suzy didn’t press him.
Instead, she motioned for Allen to move aside and give her the seat.
Allen quickly stood and stepped back, letting Suzy take over.
Once she was seated, Suzy dove right back into the work.
She and Dylan worked tirelessly together for another two hours.
When the screen finally displayed the words “Decryption Successful,” they exchanged a brief smile.
It was a wordless moment of mutual understanding.
Standing nearby, Allen couldn’t resist teasing.
“See? A little teamwork between a man and a woman always makes the job easier. And you two being a real married couple? That’s next–level efficiency!”
Suzy gave him a sharp look. “If you can’t say something useful, don’t say anything at all!”
