Chapter 0680
For days, Suzy had been locked in a frustrating stalemate.
Yet the moment Dylan joined in, they achieved a breakthrough.
Sure, two against one wasn’t exactly fair, but who was to say the person on the other side of the computer wasn’t also working with backup?
Glancing at Dylan, who was waiting for her decision, Suzy nodded. “Fine, let’s eat first.”
After sitting for several days straight, Suzy’s legs buckled the moment she stood up, and she collapsed toward the floor.
Dylan reacted instantly, wheeling himself over and grabbing her arm just in time.
He pulled her into his lap to keep her from hitting the ground.
The sudden movement sent his wheelchair rolling backward, and in her panic to stop it, Suzy fumbled for the controls.
But instead of the brake, her hand landed on an entirely different spot–right on Dylan’s lap.
For a moment, time seemed to freeze.
Neither of them moved, their eyes locked in stunned silence.
It wasn’t Suzy or Dylan who reacted first–it was…
Feeling the warmth and firmness beneath her palm, Suzy’s face turned crimson.
The realization jolted her back to reality, and she glared at Dylan furiously.
“Seriously, Dylan? Even like this, you can’t have a little self–control?”
Dylan hadn’t expected the situation to unfold like this either, but he felt unjustly accused.
“You’re the woman I love. Any reaction I have to you is instinctive. And besides, you’re the one who started it…”
Suzy’s face burned even redder. “I didn’t mean to…”
Forget it. There was no point arguing with him. The important thing now was to get up and out of his arms before things got even more awkward.
Bracing herself on Dylan’s shoulders, she tried to push herself up, but…
Her legs were still numb, and her lower back ached sharply.
Even after applying pressure to the acupoints, the improvement was minimal. She was stuck.
“Stop moving. If you keep this up, I really won’t be able to handle it!” Dylan’s voice was strained, his body tense.
Suzy’s constant shifting in his lap only made things worse, leaving him feeling overheated and restless, as if someone had drugged him again.
Of course, Suzy noticed Dylan’s reaction. It was hard not to. But still…
“If I don’t move, am I supposed to just stay here in your lap forever?”
“Why not? I’d welcome it,” Dylan said, his gaze steady and intense. “Preferably for a lifetime.”

“Ugh…” Suzy rolled her eyes, scoffing.
“We don’t even have that kind of relationship. Stop throwing around talk about lifetimes and forever. Besides, shouldn’t you be dedicating your ‘forever‘ to the girl who saved your life?”
The mention of that girl immediately darkened Dylan’s expression. “Did you hide her?”
“Yep!” Suzy admitted without hesitation. “I found her for you, so I’m also responsible for her safety. Plus, if she really is pregnant, it’ll give Grandma some peace of mind.
“Suzy, do you really have to push me toward another woman?” Dylan’s voice dropped, his frustration evident. “It’s not about me forcing you; it’s about the responsibility you carry,” Suzy said, her gaze steady. “The Wright family’s entire legacy depends on you, and I refuse to be the one blamed for jeopardizing it.”
