Chapter 0677
Suzy unlocked the phone Zoe, formerly known as Aruna, had handed to her before she died, hoping to find something useful.
But to her dismay, none of the folders would open.
Even after attempting to recover the files, they remained inaccessible.
The contents were either remotely deleted moments ago, of the files had been tampered with long before, something Zoe might not have even known.
Had that person anticipated Zoe’s betrayal all along?
The exact situation was still unclear, but Suzy knew one thing–everything hinged on her ability to recover those
files.
Recalling the phone number Zoe had shown her just before her death, Suzy tried dialing it directly from the phone. There was no answer.
This confirmed her suspicions–Zoe’s every move had been under that man’s surveillance.
But who could be so meticulous, so calculating?
For a fleeting moment, Suzy thought of Claude.
His methods had always been similarly precise.
But he was dead.
She had personally overseen his burial to ensure there was no chance of foul play, unlike the first time when he had faked his death.
There couldn’t possibly be another Claude in this world.
So, who was it?
Regardless, Zoe had been Elliot’s aunt. While she had made unforgivable mistakes, Suzy couldn’t just leave her unburied.
She entrusted the arrangements for Zoe’s funeral to Allen.
When Allen learned about Zoe’s true identity, he was just as shocked.
“I can’t believe it. That the one who hurt Elliot was her? She was his own aunt! I remember visiting Elliot in the organization–those two were so close, like mother and son. Who would’ve thought…”
Allen let out a cold laugh. “Who in this world can you really trust anymore?”
Suzy shared the sentiment. Was there truly any bond in this world that remained unchanging?
Still, she was determined to recover the data on that phone. It was the only lead they had to track down the person
behind it all.
Over the next few days, Suzy locked herself in her room, fully focused on recovering the data from the phone.
But the adversary wasn’t making it easy.
They were constantly monitoring her efforts remotely. Each time she was on the verge of success, the files were sabotaged again.
Chapter 0677
This back–and–forth had already happened two or three times.
Suzy, unshaken, muttered to herself, “Impressive skills. Let’s see how long you can keep this up.”
After two more days and nights of relentless work, dark circles had formed under her eyes.
Seeing her in this state, Allen grew increasingly worried.

“Boss, you need to rest. It’s been days. If you keep this up, you’re going to collapse!”
He wanted to help, but if even Suzy couldn’t crack it, there was no way he could.
Her skills were already top–tier, so how had someone suddenly appeared who was even better than her?
“Or perhaps,” Allen thought.
“It wasn’t about skill but familiarity. Maybe this person knew Suzy’s methods so well they could counter her at every turn, dragging out this standoff.”
The thought unsettled him further.
Who could possibly know Suzy better than he did?
Allen’s mind went to Claude.
In this world, there was no one else who understood Suzy as thoroughly as Claude had.
But he was dead.
It had been months now–long enough for his ashes to have disintegrated.
If it wasn’t Claude, then who could it be?
Suzy wanted to rest, but the adversary wasn’t giving her any chance to do so.
They were relentless, pressing her at every step. If she stopped now, recovering that folder would be impossible.
