Clenching her fists tightly, Aruna continued speaking to Suzy, “But I really don’t know where he is.‘
“You took him, and you don’t know?”
Suzy’s grip on her chin tightened. “Aruna, I don’t have time to waste with you!”
“I truly don’t know!”
Aruna explained to Suzy, “I did take him out of the hospital, but after that, someone else picked him up. As for where they took him, I genuinely don’t know! If you don’t believe me, I can swear on it!”
“An oath is the most unreliable thing in this world!” Suzy sneered.
“Plenty of people swear oaths. How many of them actually face retribution? I’ll ask you one last time–where is he?”
“You can kill me, but if I don’t know, I don’t know! My orders were only to get him out of the hospital. What happened after that was beyond my responsibility.”
Aruna looked at Suzy with utter sincerity. “Miss Frost, I swear I’m not lying to you!”
“You just said you didn’t know why I was here!” Suzy didn’t believe her at all.
“Aruna, I’ve experienced your tricks before. I already gave you a chance earlier. Since you don’t know how to appreciate it, don’t blame me for this!”
Suzy pulled out her phone and called Allen.
“Aruna wants to see her husband and son, but with her weak condition, she can’t manage on her own. Could you help bring them over-”
Before she could finish, Aruna snatched the phone from her hands. “I’ll talk! I’ll talk!”
But as soon as she spoke, Aruna realized the phone hadn’t even been unlocked.
Suzy had been bluffing the entire time, pretending to make the call.
And yet, she had fallen for it.
“You tricked me…”

Suzy raised an eyebrow. “All’s fair in war. I learned from the best–you. After all, you’re a master at pretending!”
Having already fallen for the ruse and blurted out her willingness to talk, it was too late for regrets.
Resigned, though unwilling, Aruna had no choice but to reveal everything she knew.
Perhaps telling Suzy was the best option after all. If that meant Elliot might still have a chance, it was worth it.
Before she began, Aruna reached up and peeled off the human–skin mask on her face, revealing her true
appearance.
When Suzy saw her face clearly, she was utterly shocked. “It’s you!”
Suzy was well–acquainted with some of Elliot’s relatives, having even met them before.
The woman standing before her now was none other than Elliot’s closest aunt Zoe Cleary!
