Chapter 0644
“Heh, all these years, every time you’ve been in trouble, you’ve run to your parents. I can’t believe you still haven’t broken that habit,” the man sneered coldly. “Why did you lie to me?”
“Lie to you? I don’t know what you’re talking about. I just got back from out of town and brought some local specialties for my parents…”
“Then why didn’t you answer when I called you?”
“My phone’s broken! I haven’t had a chance to get it fixed,” the man replied, pointing at Suzy and Allen. “Who are these two?”
Suzy stepped forward, stopping directly in front of him. “You seriously don’t know who I am?”
“I don’t know you. Why would I?” he said, keeping his face neutral. “My parents are old and don’t like strangers. You’d better leave.”
Slap!
Suzy raised her hand and gave him a sharp slap. “My patience is limited. Whatever I ask next, you’d better answer honestly. If not, when your parents come back, I can’t promise I won’t deal with you in front of them.”
The man tried to hold his ground. “Who are you? You barge into my house and assault me? Do you want me to call the cops?”
Allen stepped in and kicked him hard in the stomach. “Didn’t you hear my boss say she doesn’t have the patience to deal with your nonsense? Keep running your mouth, and I’ll personally send you to meet your maker!”
Finally, the man caved. “Are you asking about the money? Look, I didn’t know what was going on. It happened when I was at the massage parlor. I ran into someone who said he could give me a way to make a fortune. He told me to lend him my bank card.
“These days, there are a few things you should never lend out: your wife, your car, your ID, and your bank card. But I got greedy and thought about the money, so I reached out to him…”
He glanced at his friend, standing silently to the side. “He didn’t ask questions and just handed over his card. The guy paid me one hundred thousand dollars. Later, the more I thought about it, the more it didn’t feel right. Especially after I saw you grab him, I got scared and went into hiding.”

Chapter 0644
“Since I knew he understood me so well, I didn’t dare go to any of my usual spots. I came straight to my parents‘ house instead, but I never expected him to find me here!”
Slap!
This time, it was the man who hit him. His face burned with anger as he pointed at his so–called friend. “I trusted you so much, and you sold me out for one hundred thousand dollars? You knew full well you shouldn’t lend out a bank card, but you still dragged me into this mess!”
The more he spoke, the angrier he became, kicking his friend several times in a fit of
rage.
Allen let him vent for a moment before stepping in to stop him. “That’s enough. Don’t beat him to death–you’ll end up in jail, and scum like this isn’t worth it. Go home now. We’ll take care of this from here!”
“What… what are you going to do?”
“Obviously, we’re going to make sure you tell us who gave you the one hundred thousand dollars,” Allen said with a cold smirk. “You’ve got three days to find him. If you don’t, you’ll face the consequences alone.”
“Three days?”
“What, too long for you?”
“No, no, it’s not that. I don’t even know the guy. I’m not sure I can find him in three days!”
“Well, that’s your problem,” Allen replied, his tone icy. “You took the money. Selling out a friend of so many years for a hundred thousand dollars? It’s only fair you pay the price for it.”
